Education Charities

To engage in the relief of poverty and distress of people with disabilities by aiding them. To advance into employment and in pursuing any other objects for the well being of people with disabilities.

The charity operates the Roman Catholic Seminary of the Archdiocese of Birmingham at Oscott College, for the education of men in Holy Orders (Priesthood and Permanent Diaconate). The programme of study lasts up to 6 years. The CIO also maintains the College building and grounds and operates a Catholic Cemetery. Other lawful charitable activities for the propagation of the RC faith are undertaken.

Provides education to under 12 year olds

The foundation gives grants to further education and to promote the health and wellbeing of young people, mainly in the UK, India and the USA. It also gives humanitarian relief where appropriate, from time to time.

The charity promotes the education of the public in the arts of opera and ballet by making grants to, or for the benefit of, the Royal Opera House or the educational activities of the Royal Ballet School

Farms for City Children offers children from urban areas all over the country a unique opportunity to spend a week living and working together on a real farm in the heart of the countryside. The charity operates on three farms: in Devon, Gloucestershire and Pembrokeshire. The children visit as a school group, with their teachers and get involved as a team in all aspects of running a working farm.

The main objectives are to focus on the training and employment of ex-offenders on their release from custody. We engage with our participants whilst they are still in prison, follow through in the community and provide training to give them the skills to help secure paid employment or to set up in self employment.

Domiciliary care is provided for up to 71 elderly blind and partially sighted persons. Up to 400 blind and partially sighted persons attend our Day Centre each week to participate in stimulating and therapeutic activities. We provide Community Services to blind and partially sighted persons residing in the Midlands area. We facilitate employment opportunities for visually impaired people.

Noor Ul Islam is based in Leyton, East London. We aim to meet the social, educational and welfare needs of the local community. We run a mosque, full time Primary School, pre-school, adult education classes and you services - based on an Islamic ethos. We raise money for those in need and distribute either ourselves or via other charity organisations.

To advance education (including spiritual, moral, social, cultural and physical education) in accordance with the doctrines and princilples of the Church in the Diocese of Chichester or elsewhere by carrying on Lancing College Preparatory School at Worthing Ltd. To promote and extend education whilst benefitting the public in a body where all surplus funds are reinvested.

The Charity offers short-term Bible School courses and Christian holidays and conferences at Capernwray Hall in North Lancashire.

Open Age is a user led charity enabling older people to sustain their physical and mental well-being by providing over 350 low cost weekly physical, creative & mentally stimulating, learning,& health related activities in community venues. An employment programme supports un-employed people aged 50 and over into sustainable work, training and volunteering.

Kings Arms Project is a charity tackling homelessness, displacement, and isolation in Bedford. We provide person-centered support, accommodation, and opportunities for growth. Our 4 teams Outreach, Supported Accommodation, Pathways, and Refugee & Migrants offer housing, employment support, legal aid, and life skills training, helping individuals regain stability and thrive in their communities.

To fund four professorial chairs at the University of Birmingham;To fund the maintenance of the Barber Institute;To purchase works of art or beauty for display at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts;To fund musical recitals for performance at or in connection with the Barber Institute of Fine Arts;To purchase musical instruments, printed and manuscript music and musical and fine arts books.

The charity manages the operations of the Yesodey Hatorah Girls Primary School and provides support and activities which develop the development of young people. It also provides scholarships, bursaries and other welfare grants.

The Objects of the Charity are, for the public benefit, to advance the education of the pupils at the School through all lawful means including (but not limited to) providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for the School as well as providing a fund for the provision of scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries, maintenance allowances or other grants.

SolarAid combats poverty and climate change by providing access to solar lights in Africa to help catalyse solar markets and eradicate the kerosene lamp. We have created a social enterprise, SunnyMoney, who sell lights via sustainable school networks and local enterprises.
