Heritage Charities

The charity furthers the education of the public in the art of literature and creativity by the provision and maintenance of a museum and literature centre based on the works of Roald Dahl. Its mission is to inspire in everyone a love of stories and creativity, particularly creative writing, using the Roald Dahl Archive, his stories and life.

The open-air Museum, through the use of its Designated collections, provides opportunities for the public, including many thousands of pupils and students, to gain a better understanding, appreciation and knowledge of the history and international significance and impact of the Black Country and its people, over a period of 200 years, to c1960.

To advance the education of people in the arts for the public benefit in particular the arts of drama, dance, music, motion pictures and the culinary arts, primarily but not exclusively, through the provision of financial assistance in the education, access and creation of arts and culture and, to establish and maintain an art gallery and/or museum and/or culinary art school for the public benefit

The development and presentation of a live-action night show of 2,000 years of British History seen through the eyes of North East England on a 71/2 acre stage to an audience of up to 8,000 in the shadow of Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, County Durham.Every aspect of the show will be delivered by over 1,000 volunteers to reawaken pride, develop skills and bring the local community together.

The Foundation's primary focus has been funding academic scholarships and fellowships, but it has also supported many other causes such as art galleries, museums and humanitarian appeals. The Foundation does not make contributions in response to unsolicited requests.

Provision of a public, educational Museum and Gardens

To conserve, develop and interpret the national collection of Tanks and Armoured Fighting Vehicles, to enable people to better understand armoured warfare, and its impact on society-past, present and future.

The Thursford Collection operates as a steam engine and organ museum and conducts a Christmas Spectacular Show in Thursford Norfolk.

The trustees shall hold the fund and its income for such charities/charitable purposes, throughout the world, as the trustees shall determine, in particular the preservation and restoration of biodiversity and humanitarian aid for the young and disadvantaged.
