Heritage Charities

A- To promote and advance the study of family history and genealogy with particular reference to the county of Oxfordshire. B- To locate, preserve, publish where applicable and make available relevant documents and archival material. C- Hold regular meetings, produce three journals per year and attend other societies and organisations fairs.

(1) - The restoration, preservation, operation and display of its steam locomotives, which includes LMS Princess Coronation Class Pacific 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland";(2) - The restoration, preservation, display and where appropriate, the operation of its rolling stock;(3) - The operation of the West Shed Museum, which aims to exhibit the full history of the LMS pacific class locomotives.

The Trust has significant permanent collections including fine art, decorative art, furniture, social & industrial history, steamboats & historic vessels and archival material. The collections are on loan to Lakeland Arts (charity no. 8162578) which operates Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Blackwell Arts & Crafts House and the Museum of Lakeland Life and WIndermere Jetty Museum.

The principal activity of the Foundation is the maintenance of the late Sir Edward Elgar's birthplace at Lower Broadheath, Worcester and of the collection of Elgar memorabilia and archive material. The Foundation is also concerned with the promotion of education in and an appreciation of Elgar's life and works.

The objects of the Organisation are to acquire, restore, repair and house tramcar bodies, tramcar trucks and tramway equipment and to transfer the same to the Tramway Museum Society, Crich for preservation and exhibition. The main function of the Organisation is to build up funds for the restoration etc. of tramcars and enable a continuous sequence of projects in the Workshop at Crich.

To promote the restoration and use of the Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal and to educate the public in its history, use and ecology.

Use of Turton Tower for any or all of the following purposes:museum, library, reading room, meeting room or offices for the work of the Trustees, or a public park or recreation grounds, or such other public purposes as the Trustees shall from time to time determine

The presevation and adornment of Beverley Minster and the general mtce of the Minster, its activities and services, its ornaments and furnishings;To make gifts to the Minster which may be acceptable to the PCCTo promote public interest in the Minster its history and its work

Publishes volumes of naval history.

The Charity seeks to relieve poverty by making payments twice a year to elderly people on low income living in the historical parish of Camberwell (which includes Dulwich and Peckham).

Brookwood Memorial Halls are the Village Halls for the village of Brookwood. The Charity provides facilities for local groups and charities, (such as Womens Institute, Scouts Association and Guides Association).

The Trust carries out projects in pursuance of its objective to preserve the historical, architectural, and constructional heritage in and around the Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Runs and maintains the Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiment Museum, a Suffolk Regiment display in Moyse's Hall, the Cambridgeshire Regiment display at IWM Duxford and the reserve collections for The Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiments Museum .

The education of the public by promotion, support and assistance, and improvement of the museums in Sunderland administered by Sunderland City Council.

To promote the study of the history of railways, canals and transport generally.

The principal object of the charity is to examine, preserve and illustrate the ancient monuments and remains of the history, language, manners, customs, arts and industries of Wales and the Marches and to educate the public in such matters.

The Maeldune Trust exists to advance the education of the public in the history and heritage of the Town of Maldon, Essex.

We provide accomodation for six single elderly persons in six historic 16th century one bedroom cottages, who have lived or worked in the Rochford district.

To provide grants and financial assistance for educational purposes to young people, within the Dunstable area, whose parents are in sympathy with the aims of the Church of England and other Christian churches. It is also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Chews House and the Old Library (now The Little Theatre).

The society serves those interested in the history and technique of British Theatre by arranging public lectures, by publishing books and a thrice-yearly journal ('Theatre Notebook') and by awarding research grants to individuals and institutions. It awards an annual theatre book prize and stages the Poel Event, an annual workshop promoting good stage speech, most recently at the National Theatre.

To build, equip, endow & maintain dwelling houses for disabled or otherwise afflicted Leicestershire veterans of the Armed Forces, Merchant Navy and Civil Defence forces of The Crown, their families and dependents.

The Charity administers and manages the recreational facilities for the benefit of the local community and other members of the general public. The amenities include the recreation ground, children's playground, memorial gardens, three tennis courts with a clubhouse, the Parish Pavilion, a Scouts hut and a Sports Pavilion.
