SUPPORT LOCAL CONTEMPORARY ART, EXHIBIT PERMANENT COLLECTION, PROVIDE YOUNG PEOPLES' WORKSHOPS, PROVIDE ART RELATED EDUCATION/PRESENTATION FOR RYE AREA, CONSERVE HERITAGE ASSETS - BUILDINGS AND ART WORKS - OF THE TRUST.

The Gallery, built in 1856 and substantially extended in 2021, houses a unique collection of works by 20th C artists who have lived in N.W. Essex, eg. Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious, Michael Rothenstein. Other contemporary works are included to demonstrate the area's continuing artistic tradition. Over forty artists are represented in the Collection - owned by The N. W. Essex Collection Trust.

Second Time Around is a charity furniture restoration project that recycles unwanted or donated wooden furniture. Our vision is training and volunteering opportunities to promote social inclusion and independance for adults with learning disabilities.

BUILDING WORK WAS COMPLETED IN 2009. THE PERMANENT TENANT HAS MOVED IN AND THE BUILDING IS NOW OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE.
