Heritage Charities

The Objects of the Charity embrace the study and promulgation of knowledge of the Orthodox monastic communities of Mount Athos, and the promotion of their religious and charitable work, along with that of others which are dependent on or connected in some way with Mount Athos. The Charity supports and organises appeals to fund the repair and restoration of monasteries and buildings on Mount Athos.

To create interest and raise funds to maintain, preserve, restore and display the Lancaster Bomber "City of Lincoln" and any other aeroplanes and objects of historical interest associated with the Lancaster or the Royal Air Force for the benefit of the public and as a memorial to Bomber Command personnel during the 1939-1945 war.

To help to set up and run friends and volunteers of heritage organisations and represent at local and national level.

The main objective of MQT is to oversee the operation of the Manchester Millennium Quarter - a distinctive cultural area in the historic medieval sector of Manchester.

To promote civic pride & secure the preservation, protection, development & improvement of features of historic or public interest in the towns of Frinton-On-Sea, Walton-On-The-Naze & the neighbouring villages of Great Holland, Kirby Cross & Kirby-Le-Soken; to educate the public; to give information; to hold meetings, lectures & exhibitions.

Charitable organisation promoting the education of children and young people on the subject of the Polish language, culture, geography, history, religion and tradition, in particular but not exclusively by providing a supplementary Polish Saturday school in Derby.

Provision of funds for the repair and maintenance of Salisbury Cathedral.

(1) The construction of a working, close replica of the narrow gauge steam locomotive GOWRIE, the original of which was built in 1908 by the Hunslet Engine Co. of Leeds (works number 979) for the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway to Fairlie's Patent Design. Modifications to the original design shall be limited to those necessary to comply with appropriate legislation in force at the time

Grants to St Alban's Church serving the community to support curate, youth clubs, repair & restoration of plate and vestments, confirmation candidates preparation, Children's and Youth pilgrimages to Walsingham.

The maintenance and upkeep of the fabric of St Leonard's Church, Yarpole, and the promotion of of St Leonard's premises to expand and develop the communal use and cultural life in the civic parish of Yarpole

To preserve for the public the natural, artistic and cultural amenities of the town of Alford and its surroundings

The charity provides a museum to show, through multi media displays, to all ages, the history of the East Anglian Regiments and the Royal Anglian Regiment from 1958. The museum is located at the Imperial War Museum site at Duxford, just outside Cambridge.

To promote the preservation, conservation and recording of former European cemeteries and isolated monuments in South Asia and elsewhere in Asia.To promote education in the history of all places in South Asia and elsewhere in Asia associated with European residence and in particular the territories formerly administered by the Honourable East India Company and the British Government of India.

The provision and maintenance of a community centre and playing field for the use of the inhabitants of the area of benefit without distinction of political,religious or other opinions, including use for meetings,lectures and classes, and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

The only activity and aim of the charity is to act as a collector of donations intended for the restoration, repair and preservation of Romsey Abbey and its contents and to make grants to Romsey Parochial Church Council for this purpose.

The objects of The Cavalcade of Costume Limited are to provide for the advancement of public education a museum for the display of costumes together with such other exhibits or items of social history or other educational interest from time to time.

The Trust deed decrees that the Trustees shall use the funds, whether capital or income, including contributions and subscriptions from time to time in their absolute discretion for the preservation, restoration, improvement and ornamentation of the parish church of St Leonard's, Flamstead.

The Shropshire Regimental Museum/Soldiers of Shropshire Museum incorporates the traditions and history of all the former Shropshire Regiments. It collects, documents, conserves, exhibits and interprets items relevant to the history of these Regiments. The Modern Army Display now includes a regularly updated display of the equipment and deployment of the successor Regiments.

To conserve and promote the historical, architectural and archaeological heritage of the old church at Murston; to advance the education of the public generally and especially in the subjects of history, archaeology, ecology art and design, including the establishment and running of an arts centre and the erection of additional buildings for such purposes at the old church at Murston.

The Charity operates Plas Dolerw as a Voluntary Sector Centre and organises an annual lecture to discuss issues of concern in Montgomeryshire. The Charity also owns Oriel Davies Gallery, which is leased to a separate charity. Exhibitions and arts education courses are provided there for the benefit of the people of mid Wales.
