Heritage Charities

The HWu3a has over 70 groups which enables it to offer a very wide range of activities to its members. These may help increase fitness and mobility (6 different walking groups, cycling, country dancing etc) or more learning or artistic based activities ( choir, art appreciation, archaeology and a large gardening group). There are monthly meetings with a speaker. All groups are led by the members.

Wake House Arts and Community Trust, manages on behalf of the local Community Wake House which is a Grade 2 Listed building in the Centre of Bourne.Once the Home of the Couturier Charles Worth, Wake House is now home to over 40 Arts, Community and Educational Organisations which provide a range of Cultural,Educational & Support services for the population of Bourne and the surrounding villages.

Payment of grants to registered charities operating in the West Country. Charities with a medical bias. Charities concerned with nature conservation and preservation of historic buildings. Charities concerned with the care of the elderly. Charities concerned with the saving of life and the improvement of the quality of life of the handicapped. The Trustees have complied Section 4-Charity Act 2006

The advancement of Christian religion & education for the public benefit by the conservation, repair, maintenance, improvement, restoration and refurbishment of Christchurch Priory. Christchurch Priory means The Priory Church at Christchurch Dorset and its fabric, structure, fixtures, fittings, equipment, services monuments, decoration and ornaments.

History,conservation and education, with a main focus on the Regency period and Brighton & Hove but with historical and geographical interests beyond these where appropriate.

The object of The Brodrick Trust is to preserve Leeds Town Hall and Leeds Town Hall organ for the public benefit by supporting the restoration and maintenance of the hall and organ.

Provision and maintenance of a museum for public exhibition of a collection of objects and specimens of antiquity, natural history, art, archaeology or science and the extension, advancement, conservation and maintenance of the objects and specimens in the said collection.

HALL HIRE VENUE

The Trust operates a skippered community canal boat based in Islington, London for use by community groups, schools and local residents at affordable prices. On day or residential trips users experience the activity of a canal cruise, learn about local history, flora, fauna and ecology, supplement classroom learning, develop social skills living together, escape inner city life and much more.

Beck Isle Museum cares for around 60,000 objects which are used to catalogue and preserve the history of the local market town, with particular reference to Pickering and the wider Ryedale area. Focus is placed on education through the use of objects in displays, exhibitions and events, and the museum seeks to engage schools, groups and the local community through outreach programmes.

North East Restoration Club operates from workshop premises in Washington, Tyne & Wear. It exists to promote, support and develop the maintenance, repair and restoration of historic vehicles. It does this by providing facilities, equipment and support. It promotes its objectives with shows and events. It provides support to other organisations in the area operating with similar aims.

The Offa's Dyke Association aims to promote the conservation of Offa's Dyke and other linked sites of archaeological interest, and to help the general public understand and enjoy the monument. It operates from its free-to-enter museum base, the Offa's Dyke Centre in Knighton, Powys. Its conservation and public engagement projects are often delivered through partnership with others.

The provision and maintenance of a unique community facility which is Pickering Memorial Hall. This provides a dynamic focal point for all local charities, businesses and the people of Pickering, at minimal non profit making cost to users.

The objects of the Society are for the benefit of the public to:- advance the heritage of the historic county of Lincolnshire; advance education by recording local history, archaeology, industrial archaeology, topography, architecture, population studies, dialect and other similar objects of local interest; and preserve the building known as Jews' Court, Lincoln and the ruins of Bardney Abbey

Runs and maintains the Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiment Museum, a Suffolk Regiment display in Moyse's Hall, the Cambridgeshire Regiment display at IWM Duxford and the reserve collections for The Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiments Museum .

Rye Heritage Centre maintains a centre for public benefit in the Ancient Town of Rye, by acting as a gateway to Rye's maritime and rural history by signposting other heritage sites across Rye; advancing the education of culture and heritage of the Rye, through the Town Model and related exhibitions and events; fostering the spirit of volunteering and commitment to Rye .

Collection and curation of historic artefacts relating to the parish of Fylingdales. Yorkshire and the maintenance of a museum open to the public to display and interpret a selection of such artefacts.

To promote the preservation for the benefit of the public, buildings, gardens and objects designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens (including gardens designed in partnership with Miss Gertrude Jekyll). To inform and educate the public about Lutyens buildings, gardens and objects. To provide information and support to owners of Lutyens buildings. Bringing model railways to the community for learning, wellbeing and fun. Promoting education and personal development through research, planning, building, operation and display of model railways. Collaborative engagement with local heritage organisations to promote social and industrial history. The Hovercraft Museum Trust is the worlds only hovercraft museum and through its iconic exhibits tells the ongoing story of the hovercraft in a way that inspires, educates, and provides enjoyment to the public and society in general at its home on a transport heritage site in Lee on the Solent, Hampshire.

To operate an industrial heritage museum that preserves and exhibits a wide range of engines/pumps/artefacts used in the water industry in Herefordshire and Wales. Many engines are regularly shown fully working (in-steam). The Museum provides educational services and guided tours can be provided for schools and community groups. The Museum may be hired for community meetings and functions.
