PROVIDING LOCAL (SAWTRY,CONINGTON, GLATTON AND HOLME VILLAGES) HISTORICAL INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC, BY WAY OF MEETINGS, PRESENTATIONS AND EXHIBITIONS.RESEARCH AND RECORDING OF LOCAL HISTORY THROUGH OUR PAPER AND DIGITAL ARCHIVES AND THROUGH OUR ARCHAEOLOGICAL GROUP WITH SAWTRY HISTORY SOCIETY

The object of the Trust is to preserve, conserve and protect for the use and benefit of the public, the St. Edmund of Abingdon Chapel, Priory Street, Dover as a memorial to St. Edmund of Abingdon and Canterbury, enabling it to be used for those purposes.

Regular exhibitions; programme of changing exhibitions; programme of lectures; school projects; outreach; outings

Promotion of Archaeology and local history in the Waltham Abbey area and the provision of information resulting from such studies, including publication of reports and documents pertaining to such activities and interests.

To arrange activities in Ilkley (West Yorks) which stimulate public interest in all aspects of history and archaeology

The Trust fulfils its objects by providing the Church Council with grants for the restoration, maintenance and upkeep of the fabric of the Church. The Trust receives its income in the form of donations, fundraising and bank interest.

HCCPT is a non-denominational trust that supports Cheshire churches and chapels via grant funding for repair and restoration purposes.

The charity carries out an educational function, organising meetings related to local cultural and historical themes. It also publishes local history booklets.

AHTW has ceased to undertake its original function in supporting history teachers in Wales .Currently it is in the process of donating its collected papers from 1982-1926 to the National Library of Wales and disposing of its small final balance .

The village hall is the only public building available to the village and is open to all local and neighbouring residents. There are regular social, quiz and local history evenings, coffee mornings, craft and chat and eat and stay warm and the Parish Council, NY Council and local groups also use. Annual events include craft fair and Christmas events and a number of small private events.

THE CHARITY IS THE EFFECTIVE OWNER OF THE GRADE 2 LISTED 17TH CENTURY SCHOOL WITH THE TRUSTEES ACTIVE IN SAFEGUARDING IT FOR THE FUTURE OF THE VILLAGE BY MONITORING ANY PROPOSALS FOR ALTERATIONS TO THE BUILDING, AND BY MAKING OBSERVATIONS TO THE RELEVANT BODIES. WITH ONLY LIMITED FUNDS, THE CHARITY MAKES OCCASIONAL DONATIONS TO THE SCHOOL FOR SPECIFIC PROJECTS.

The Kent Kingdon Trust exists to purchase books for the Westcountry Studies Library and works of art for the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter.

To maintain, preserve, improve, restore, renovate and repair the structural fabric of the Church of St Peter and Paul, Steeple Morden, and to advance the education of the public in the history of the said church.

An interest in all Industrial Archaeology sites in Hampshire, research and recording, lectures to members and occasional visits.

Publishing a regular Journal and occasional publications, such as those in the series "Durham Biographies".Organising 5 free historical lectures a year open to all.

We had a varied programme of talks on The Suffragettes, a Victorian Nurse (and scurrilous gossip), SS Great Britain and Unravelling the Secrets of Forged Signatures. Christmas songs were enjoyed - along with mince pies, and we all enjoyed painting on silk. Along with our meeting on Resolutions and our AGM plus a couple of quizes, we also managed monthly walks and Book Group.

Historical talks and walks around Dorset

The Trustees hold the capital and income and at their discretion apply the income or capital: A) For charitable purposes B) If and when the Trustees become the owners of Rousham Park, in the preservation for the benefit of the nation at large whatever of the historical, architectural and constructional heritage may exist at Rousham Park and surrounding estate.

We are not active at the moment - no premises available. We are still in negotiations with the Shepton Mallet History Group and as of 19t November 2024 at the AGM of the SMHG the Shepton Mallet Area History Group has merged into this charity with its similar constitution

Maintenance of (bells & related material comprising) The Sharpe Collection formerly housed c/o Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford now in store awaiting a new home.

i) To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the area of Long Sutton and surrounding Villages. ii) To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the area of benefit.iii) to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area of benefit.

External maintenance and upkeep of the buildings of the Waintwright Trust specifically the original school building, school garden and outbuildings.

To give financial help for the upkeep, maintenance and repair of any building in the parish of Barton Mills that is used as a village hall, or similarly for any recreation ground in Barton Mills.

Public open evenings - 6 per year. Presentations at National Waterfront Museum, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Country Parks, talks & visits to other organisations. Evening lecture programme for members. Monthly "star-guide" in local newspaper, and on Society's website. National & local radio presentations.
