CAMPING, HIKING, CRAFT, ETC IN LINE WITH THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION TRAINING SCHEME

Local Scout Group part of the Scout Association, Providing Training, Indoor and Adventurous Outdoor Activities for All Young People aged between 6 and 15.

In accordance with Sea Cadet regulation, our aim is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy, also providing adventure training under the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

We promote scouting activities within a structured progressive award system. Focus is on team work, leadership, personal development and community awareness. We encourage outdoor activities ie in the form of camping & pursuits such as orienteering etc.

All Scouting Activities ie. knotting, first aid, cooking, fire lighting and map and compass work. All these skills are aimed at giving children the opportunity to take part in more adventurous activities enabling the children to look after themselves. Other activites include camping, interesting speakers, making things and demonstrations.

Outdoor pursuits, canoeing, sailing, camping. Qualifications in catering, sailing, safety boat, canoeing, radio communications, electronics. Musical instrument (band) training. Drill training. All forms of sports , swimming

Promotion of the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their community. Character building activities, outdoor activities (e.g camping, rock climbing, travel, swimming, sport) team building, environmental and civic awareness.

Youth organisation for 10-18 year olds as fully enrolled uniformed cadets. They are instilled into the nautical traditions - boatwork, sailing, canoeing, sea going experience under sail and power, seamanship, maritime skills (drill and piping), radio communications, electrics, mechanics, cook stewards, band music. MWCC is a Christian camping organisation providing low cost, value-for-money camps for children and families, mainly from the South of England.

SCOUT GROUP ACTIVITIES INCLUDE CAMPING, HIKING, CLIMBING AND GAMES

Southampton Action runs regular public appeals to collect items, particularly but not exclusively clothing, shoes, household items, toiletries and camping equipment. Volunteers sort the donated items, which are then packed and delivered to order to refugees and asylum seekers in Southampton and also delivers items to refugee organisations working outside of the UK.

Working with children and young people in Pill and District (North Somerset) to provide youth club facilities, sports events and outdoor activities.All youth club activities are currently contracted to Foreal Youth Work Provider CIC.
