Leisure Charities

To offer support and guidance to people having a learning disability, their parents and carers, so as to enable them to live ordinary lives within their own local communities. By supporting our colleagues we seek to enable them to partake in multi sport, culture, leisure and other similar activities with the objective of improving their own environment within a friendly family group.

The Village Hall is used as a community centre by the Parish Council, Pilates, Yoga and other activities. It is also used as a Polling Station when needed. The hall has a fully equipped kitchen, disabled toilet and access, the floor is carpeted and there is a good heating system, upgrading the hall is ongoing.The condition of the roof continues to cause concern.

A community facility including building and land for use by (but not limited to) the residents of scarisbrick and surrounding areas, uses of the hall include the holding of meetings, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life. Use of the hall is offered without distinction of political, religious or other opinions.

Provides buildings/facilities for groups, clubs and individuals in Kessingland & the surrounding area

The charity is involved with managing and maintaining the village hall and community playing fields for the benefit of the local community. The facilities provide recreational, cultural and educational facilities on behalf of local residents and the surrounding areas.

Cadets can gain skills that assist employers, for example self-confidence, leadership and good communication skills. Further skills learnt by the youngsters include life saving, Seamanship, Canoeing, Navigation, Communications, Sailing, Cookery, Rowing, Swimming, Wind Surfing. The unit also has a very successful band which performs at many local events throughout the year

Coffee morning. whist,darts fun games afternoons. Monthly Meetings with light entertainment, Monthly Day Coach Trips. Two Short Break Holidays yearly, Spring & Tinsel & Turkey. Short Mat Bowling. Fortnightly dance afternoon

Organisation of social and recreational activities. Raising of monies and donating that which is received to local & international individuals and groups. The purchase and provision of equipment. Donations to local and international requests for help and assistance.

The charity organises activities such as indoor & outdoor bowls, whist, bridge, drama, badminton, cycling, artists classes etc. The premises are also used by outside organisations for karate classes, keep fit, aerobics, children dance classes etc. Parties and receptions may also be held in the main hall.

WORTHEN VILLAGE HALL & RECREATION GROUND PROVIDES ACCOMMODATION & SPACE FOR LOCAL COMMUNITIES EG WORTHEN MEDICAL PRACTICE, WORTHEN TODDLERS GROUP, WORTHEN & BROCKTON BOWLING CLUB, BROCKTON ROVERS FC . THE HALL IS AVAILABLE FOR HIRE BY LOCAL RESIDENTS & ORGANISATIONS.

Social sports. Snooker and Bowls Club for the people of Sutton-in-Ashfield and surronding area

Woolpit Institute hires out meeting rooms and kitchen facilities for community groups such as the Parish Council, special interest clubs, after-school activities, table tennis and classes. A luncheon club provides meals for the elderly. Fund raising events such as coffee mornings are held. The rooms may be hired for private functions. The local museum is housed within the institute building.

The Society initiates and supports Village projects relating to Heritage, Environment and Community. It also comments on planning issues, publishes books of local interest, holds 11 meetings each year for education or entertainment & publishes monthly newsletters. It awards grants for projects that will benefit the Village and presents Civic Pride Awards each year to individuals and groups.

Hubberts Bridge Community Centre provides the facility for local groups to meet for many forms of sport and recreation. Also available to hire for weddings, parties, fund raising events etc. The committee are continually reinvesting to update and keep the centre one of the most sought after venues in the area.

PROVISION OF ENTERTAINMENT AND MUSICAL TRAINING

Newport & District Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Football Age Group 11-15 years. We organise activities that promote Association Football in the schools of Newport and the surrounding area.

Provides a sports and social events venue for the residents of Newchurch

The group provides scouting activities to children and young people in the villages of Fair Oak and Horton Heath. The group runs a beaver colony, cub pack and scout troop. A full range of weekly activities is provided in school term times, together with regular outdoor pursuits and camps

Provides waterbourne training, land based training and fun. Some educational activities. Royal Naval based activities and more besides. Provides buildings, resources, transport etc. Physical activities. All for children/young people by volunteers.

Brookside Boys Club provides a safe environment for boys and young men to socalise and partake in a range of sporting activities, therefore improving their social skills whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle.

A village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the ecclestastical parish of Gt. Stukeley without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including the use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. Christmas and Summer Fayres held to raise monies to subsidize school trips for the children, for purchase items for the classroom and pay for the sportscoach at the school.

The 2nd Penrith Scout Group provides a broad range of indoor and outdoor activities for young people - both boys and girls, aged 6 to 8 (Beavers), aged 8 to 10.5 (Cubs) and 10.5 to 14 (Scouts). The different groups meet on weekday evenings at a dedicated scout hut building in the middle of the small town of Penrith, Cumbria.

Community Hall available for hire for education activites, Parties, entertainment functions, showing of films & plays and anything else that is decent and legal.
