The objectives and aims of the Guru Nanak Sikh Organisation (hereafter called the Gurdwara) is to promote the teachings of the Sikh religion and to establish, organise and maintain for all persons whether members or not, religious and educational services and facilities.

A new Gurdwara and Community Centre was completed in 2007/08 - (the Gurdwara started providing religious services from April 2007 and the Community Centre was opened in January 2008 for use by the community for social and religious functions). The site now becomes the focal centre where Sikhs & Non-Sikhs get together to celebrate religious functions and discuss multi faith issues.

A SIKH TEMPLE PROVIDING GENERAL DAY TODAY RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY INCLUDING COMMUNITY MEALS (LANGAR) DURING SERVICES. THE SERVICES INCLUDE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS, MARRIAGE CELEBRATIONS INCLUDING LEGAL REGISTRATIONS AND FUNERALS. TEACHING OF PUNJABI AND MUSIC INCLUDING GURBANI KIRTAN. DAY SHELTER FOR ALL.

To advance the sikh religion amongst the Sikh Ramgarhia community in Woolwich area and wider community as a whole. Furthermore to:-Provide a meeting place for the members of the community, sikh education facilities, to perform Marriage services, create a religious atmosphere and infuse spirit of service, fraternity, brotherhood amongst members, establish Library, sports and youth activities.

The objects of the Temple is to a provide place of worship for Sikhs, to support the community in connecting with its religion and to integrate into the community within which they live. Provision and maintenance of a Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) to be used by the local community as a place of worship in accordance with the Sikh religion and for conducting religious rituals such as solemnization of births and marriages and for furthering the Sikh faith. Other major activities include teaching Punjabi to small children and providing community welfare facilities.

Our purpose is to celebrate, and educate the Sikh and wider community about Sikhism, and share our values amongst the local community.
