Religion Charities

The primary activity of Charney Manor is as a residential Conference and Retreat Centre. Organised programmes explore approaches to prayer and the Bible; personal relationships as a path to spiritual growth; interfaith dialogue; concern for the world; aspects of the arts.

The charitable trust aims to support the religious and charitable works conducted by members of the Order in Britain and overseas including parish work, retreats and spiritual direction, education and overseas mission.

The Synod is established to advance the protestant Christian religion, in particular among German-speakers in Great Britain. It fosters solidarity between Congregations and a common approach to questions of Christian faith and life. The Synod provides Congregations with ministers, advice, training and oversight.

We are mainly involved in hindu religious activities and do not have any political affinity.We have regular classes for young children for development of Hindi language.We run an over 50 club for elders to encourage them to understand social and health issues. We celebrate various Hindu festivals like Diwali, Janmasthmi, Holi etc where large number of devotees take part.

The advancement of education by the establishment and maintenance of non-denominational day schools which are operated as evangelical christian non-profit making Schools for children to be managed and administered as charitable foundations.At present this includes Emmanuel Christian School, Oxford: an independent primary school situated in Littlemore for children aged 3-11 years old.

OUR RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES INCLUDE TEACHING MEDITATION AND PROVIDING A SPIRITUAL EDUCATION TO BUDDHISTS AND NON-BUDDHISTS AND TO CREATE A PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH EVERYBODY IS WELCOME.

The object of the College is to advance the Christian Religion in accordance with the tenets of the Churches by providing education and training for:1. candidates for the ministries of the Churches,2. The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy was founded for the purpose of the education of the poor and for the help of those in any kind of need. The convent became St Margaret's Convent. The Sisters engage in a variety of ministries, working in schools, aprishes, hospitals, day centres and outreach.

Our mission is to further the work of the Church in the West Indies and amongst the Native Peoples of Canada, with the emphasis on the training of the ministry.

The activities of the charity are focussed on the preservation of the Greek Cathedral in London W2. Church services and the operation of the Cathedral are carried out by 4 employed staff.

To spread the Good News of Jesus Christ - this is done by holding services open to the public throughout the UK and Ireland, putting on conferences, providing resources online such as a daily devotional and the running of a two week youth summer camp with a variety of outdoor activities.
