RCSLT is a professional membership body which promotes for the public benefit the art and science of speech and language therapy, meaning the care for individuals with communication, swallowing, eating and drinking difficulties. It represents its members by the provision of a range of membership services, lobbying and networking activities. It issues professional guidance & undertakes research.

The Foundation makes grants to other charitable organisations for the purposes of achieving the charity's aims of the relief of sickness and preservation and advancement of health, the prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship of the public, the promotion and advancement of the arts, culture or science, and the advancement of the education of the public.

The Africa Research Excellence Fund promotes medical research in Africa for the public benefit by providing education and training opportunities for individuals who are citizens of a country in Africa and are aspiring to, or have already embarked on, a career in medical research in Africa. The charity hosts training programmes and provides grants to support the development of research skills.

The British Ecological Society is a scientific society for all those interested in ecology. Our vision is to advance ecology and make it count. Martha Trust has two care homes for people with profound and complex disabilities. Each home has 14 bedrooms offering lifelong care.
