Animals Charities

To provide buildings & equipment for hire to groups, clubs, & the general public in Pontesbury & surrounding villages. The hall is used for plays, bowls, keep fit, slimming classes, broad place, dances, film shows, meetings, craft fairs, equine & computer classes, private parties.

The objects of the Charity are to feed, neuter and provide veterinary care to feral cat colonies in the local area. We would also trap any kittens suitable for rehoming. We would secure the welfare of any domestic or small indigenous wild animal, bird or reptile in distress by providing food and veterinary treatment as required.

Annual agricultural show in rural Northumberland. The Upper Redesdale Show has baking and craft classes, sheep dog trials, sheep judging and general entertainment with children's sports and live entertainment.

Dog Training, Quizzes, Flower Shows, Dinner and Dances, Country and Western Meetings, Indoor Bowling,Training and Winter and Summer Leagues. Childrens Parties and Pantomimes, Church and Chapel Functions. Keep fit classes, Male and Female.

Provide social meeting place for residents in and around Knowle area i.e. social activities ( coffee mornings, youth group, Various Keep Fit Groups (provision of rooms), dog training, neighbourhood P.A.C.T meetings, social events). Rooms made available for hire.

Meeting venue & community centre, activities include - lindal pre school, St Peters Church rainbows & brownies, badminton, keep fit, dog training, parties, annual gala, senior citizen xmas party.

We are a community centre based between West End and Townhill Park, regular users are various keep fitness classes, home schooling, dance classes, dog training. Also hired for private parties.

The charity will organise; Whistdrives, Dances, Coffee mornings. Provides equipment for Darts, Badminton. Skittles. The hall is used for Dog Training, Badminton by 2 clubs, Zumba classes, U3A clubs, also Election Polling station.Meetings of various local organisations for both recreation and business, as well as by the villagers for parties and family events.

Polling Station / Local markets / Yoga / Keep Fit / Dog Training - Kennel Club / Dance Practice / Parties for children / Local theatre / Local events such as quizzes / Heritage centre / Exhibitions for the benefit of ALL members of the village and local area etc.

Line dancing, dog training, short mat bowls, yoga, art, West country embroidery, pilates, Oddfellows, town council meetings, Age Concern, social events.

The charity provides a venue for social and other functions including Pilates, Parish Council & other meetings, dog training, afternoon teas ,Young Farmers ,W.I. It also hosts the annual Daffodil weekend and Spring Fayre. It is also the venue for 2 flower shows .It is very well used but did suffer during Covid but has returned to normal now.

The business of the society is to run an agricultural show and this is duly held on May Bank Holiday.

To promote the continued breeding of the shire horse breed.

Raising funds for canine charities

Raising money to pay for equipment and resources to benefit the children at Black Horse Hill Junior School and Infant School.

Provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Washford Pyne and neighbourhood.

Support to local childrens and adults organisations e.g. Pre School, Beavers, Cubs, Brownies, Guides, WI, Parish Council, yoga, after school club, Dog training and local individuals by providing low cost accommodation for hire.

The sheepdog trials is an open competition and attracts many international competitors. Held at at Tal y Garth Fields, Glyn Ceiriog on the last Friday & Saturday in August. The best 12 sheepdogs compete in the final at 4pm on the Saturday.There are also showing classes for sheep, all breeds of dogs, sheep shearing competitions and horse & pony classes. .An annual dinner is held in Nov/Dec.

Providing a venue for public and private functions including Parish Council, Church, Women's Institute, local amateur dramatic society, exercise classes, dance classes, art classes, dog training, parties and local and national elections.

Current activities:The Slymbridge Village Hall provides:-The possibility for a large group of organisations to meet, e.g.: Horticultural Society,History Society,Dog Training, Parish Council, the Slimbridge variety Group, church meetings, Village Hall social group meetings-Horticultural shows-Variety performance evenings

Established to perpetuate the memory of the Regiment known as Hodson's Horse and the British officers who served in it. Annual grants are given to: King Edward VII Hospital (' Sister Agnes'), Scholarships for the education of children of soldiers in India; provision of medals and trophies for sports events run by the Royal Armoured Corps and a HH Merit award for overseas cadets at RMAS Sandhurst.

Village hall. Clubs including dog clubs, kung fu, W.I., etc. use the hall.

Our charity comprises a village hall maintained for the use of anyone in the local area for events. Examples are: WI, mothers & toddlers, astronomy club, dog club, quilters & village friends. The hall is also used for functions and concerts. It is a community facility.

The Charity which is a Village Hall exists as a facility/meeting place for all activities currently undertaken by people in the community. The usage of the Village Hall is currently taken up with Billiards/Snooker Club, Badminton Club, Dog Training Classes, Carpet Bowls for Over Fifties, rehearsal facility for Music Groups, venue for Annual Flower Show and generally as a place for Social Events.

Our Scouting provides Activities each week for young people from the ages of 6years to 14years.They have the opportunity to attend Camps(experiencing Kayaking,Horse Riding,Swimming,).and also to go on visits and outings as well as helping them to acheive confidence and build up social skills.
