We are a Women's Institute that belongs to the Lancashire Federation of Women's Institute and the National Federation.Are governed by a constitution where the main aim is education of women.

The building is let to W.I. private parties various meeting as well as holding church services social evenings, talks on gardening, quiz nights amongst other activities.

WE OFFER SUPPORT AND EDUCATION TO WOMEN IN THE ISLE OF WIGHT

To promote and support the education of women by way of outings (stately homes etc.) Speakers on many subjects and bursaries for educational courses

We meet once a month.We have various speakers, outings. We attend District and National events throughout the year.

WE PROVIDE EDUCATION & TRAINING IN ARTS, CULTURE & ENVIROMENTAL ISSUES

Provides women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

Normal Women's Institute Activities

Community hall used for: parish council meetings, polling station, Women's Institute, Young Farmer's Club meetings & activities including drinks, community forums, public lectures, concerts, charity fund raising.

To improve and develop conditions of rural life and to advance the education of countrywomen in citizenship in public questions both national and international in music drama and other cultural subjects also to secure instruction and training in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare.

The WI is a National Organisation in which each Institute operates within its own area, but also in wider areas for certain aspects-such as County Shows, etc. Butts Brow WI currently has a membership of 34 ladies who meet once a month at the Memorial Hall, Willingdon. The WI exists to educate women to enable them to provide an effective role in the community, to expand their horizons and to develop and pass on important skills.

We provide a series of speakers on a wide range of topics covering the changing society around us as individual's experiences in work & play. We have an active walking programme, educational visits and theatre outings.
