The Charity provides welfare aid, social activities and trips to members who are or have been members of the Forces and who are resident in Huddersfield or its vacinity.

PROVIDES AND MAINTAINS FACILITIES FOR GROUP AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES SUCH AS W.I., YOGA, KEEP FIT, DANCE CLASSES, LECTURES, PARISH COUNCIL AS WELL AS A RANGE OF FUND RAISING EVENTS.

SCOUTING ACTIVITIES AND TRAINING

Offers a wide range of adventurous activities to boys and girls from 8 to 14 years.

Organising events to raise funds to purchase books and equipment for St Paul's School.

Parent teacher association to help raise funds for the school through various fund raising activities.

Part of Avon Federation of Women's Institute.WT&B WI offers women a unique chance to come together and share experiences.We support women to learn, develop new skills and achieve their goals.We empower women to use their voice to achieve real changes.We own Backwell WI Hall in the heart of the village. It is funded from rental income and is a valuable resource available to whole community

Providing a community facility for meetings, parties, shows, clubs, social clubs, youth club, keep fit classes, martial arts and other pastime activities.

We are a community centre which is open for membership to persons from a young age to the elderly. We provide activities bingo, quizzes etc five nights a week. There is also dance, kickboxing and games sections which are open to anybody who wishes to take part.

Our aim is to continue to provide educational and community facilities for the village and surrounding area.

Raises funds through various activities in order to be able to make donations to benefit the education of local students

COMMUNITY HALL USED FOR VARIOUS COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Under the terms of the Will of the late Bill Stickland the Charity receives investment income and property rent from the capital sum and property that form a Trust fund. The Charity is mandated by the Will to pass all net proceeds to the Lions Club of Wimborne & Ferndown of which Bill Stickland was a member. The Lions Club is the only organisation to which the Charity can make donations.

The guiding programme is underlined by the following five essentials, namely 1. Guides of all ages work together in small groups. 2. They are encouraged to govern themselves and make their own decisions. 3. They enjoy a balanced, varied & challenging programme designed to help them achieve their potential . 4. They care for the individual.5 We have a commitment to a common standard

To promote the development of young people, in order to fulfil their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development, by developing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive learning.
