Girlguiding Sussex Central is a seperately constituted division of Girlguiding UK. It follows all the programmes set out by the National charity. For further details please see the annual report.

We change lives by offering 6- to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities. Scouts helps children and young adults reach their full potential. This everyday adventure is possible thanks to our adult volunteers.

To provide facilities for community activities

To provide a headquarter building for use by Girlguiding Middlesex South West and its units to allow for training of guiders; run unit activities.

Public courses and other events in meditation and Buddhism, guiding and supporting those who wish to follow the Buddhist religion.

The main purpose of the WI organisation is to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences, to improve and develop conditions of rural life, to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions both national and international, in music, drama and other cultural subjects and in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home eco.

Beavers and Cubs enjoy playing games making new friends, going on visits and helping others. There is a badge scheme to reward them for trying new things or improving in existing activities.Scouts activities include camping, climbing, canoeing, cycling, hiking, dry skiing, 1st Aid, Scout Craft, Parades, Community, Drama,photography & many other things to help develop young peoples talents.

As a village hall charity we make available the building and its facilities (kitchen, snooker, changing rooms, stage, toilets etc) to local organisations (eg W.I, dance, exercise, toy library, art group, summer students) and to the general public for private events. We organise public events from time to time, eg skittle evenings, quiz evenings, coffee mornings, concerts, shows, markets

Riverside Community Centre hosts various user groups, including Parkstone Kids Club - childcare before & after school. Parkstone Pre-school - pre-school childcare. Yoga. Riverside Brownies. Riverside Rainbows. Riverside Guides. St John's Newland Church. J Club. The Drop In - Local Community Gathering. Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

Raising funds in support of Surgery and to assist in purchasing new equipment for the benefit of patients, also organising social activities to do same.

Provision of village hall for local community activities

Supporting the activities of scouts, cubs and beavers. Provided in an owned scout hut. Which is maintained.

The Sea Cadet Unit provides activities and training for cadets aged 10-18 years inclusive

The Friends fundraise to support the purchasing of specialised equipment for Shenstone School pupils. They also help fund the purchase and maintenance of school buses, and play equipment for outside areas. Shenstone is a school for pupils aged 2 to 11 with severe learning difficulties. The school operates across two sites, Shenstone School (Crayford) and Shenstone Early Years Centre (Sidcup).

Relief of poor and needy; grants for student educational projects; support, financial or otherwise, for charitable institutions, societies, schools, individuals and other objects.

Provide scouting activities for children aged 6 to 8 in Beavers, 8 to 10 in Cubs, and 10 to 14 in Scouts

AIM OF SCOUTINGThe aim of Scouting is to encourage the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development of young people so that they take a constructive place in society as responsible citizens, and as a member of their local, national and international communities.

Dancing for all ages and standards, exercise & self defence classes, youth group, dog training, art classes, baby group, book swap and natter group, WI, private hire and fund raising.

THE ASSOCIATION CURRENTLY WORKS TO PROVIDE A BASE FOR COMUNITY ACTIVITES TO USE WE ARE STRIVING TO INCREASE THIS BY LOOKING INTO HOW THE LOCAL AUTHORITY CAN HELP US INVITE MORE GROUPS INTO THE CENTER CURRENT GROUPS INCLUDE PENSIONERS COFFEE MORNING KARATE CLUB AND OTHER SOCIAL GATHERINGS

Community transport scheme - taking people to doctors, hospital, shopping & social clubs. Luncheon clubs for local socially isolated. Special needs club. Drop in coffee shop.
