Associations Charities

The hall provides facilities for individuals and local groups to meet, participate in activities, exercise, socialise and access information technology. Activities include art classes, badminton, bowls, dog training, WI, garden club, Friendly Friday lunch club, etc. The Hall is hired out for other local functions and to groups and is accessible to individuals requiring a secure meeting place.

SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

1st Park Street Scout Group provides an opportunity for local residents, in particular children aged between 6 years and 14 years to join in with 'Scouting' activities. This includes helping to build valuable life skills, as well as having fun through a balanced program of activities.

We run weekly meetings of 3 units, Scouts, Cub scouts and Beaver scouts in accordance with the scout code.

Fund-raising Events (raffles/auctions/stalls), Vintage Car Rally, Father Christmas Tours, Social Fund-raising Events. Donations part of rotarian subscriptions - gift aid and individual donations.Distribution to local, national and international charities and causes.

Primary school fund raising

The Group operates in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association providing training to youngsters between the ages 6 to14 years of age in three sections (Beavers,Cub Scouts and Scouts).

The 1st Broughton Scout Group provides children in the DN20 area with activities sanctioned by the Scouts. We have a Beaver section, Cub Scouts, Scouts .

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood in association with local authorities and voluntary organisations in a common effort to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare, recreation and leisure time occupation, thus improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

Fundraising for Schools

Advancing knowledge about the life, work and times of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his circle, and in the places associated with them; and supporting Coleridge Cottage in Nether Stowey as a centre of Coleridge interest, in co-operation with the National Trust.

By following the 'policy rules and organisation' of the Scout Association. Provide age related training courses, activities and awards with the aim of the physical, mental and spiritual development on young persons to enable them to take their rightful place in society.

Scouting activities.

Scouting

To promote the general purpose of the work of the Young Men's Christian Association Movement for the physical, intellectual and spiritual, fitness, training and well being of youth in accordance with the rules and principles adopted by the National Council of YMCAs. Area of benefit being South West England only.

The preservation, repair and restoration of St Helen's Church for the benefit of the public by provision of funds and equipment in co-operation with the Wheathampstead Parochial Church Council.

Raises funds for the fabric upkeep of St Michael's Church Beccles.

We provide a venue for local groups to meet e.g. Brownies, Rainbows, Yoga Classes, Drama Club, U3A, church groups, Morris Men, Embroidery Group, Fitness classes etc.

Scout Group

To promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.The Method of achieving this Aim is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training with outdoor and indoor activities.

We provide education and training to children using the Scouting Method. We are registered with the UK Scout Association.

We are based in Newtown, Powys Mid Wales. We arrange fund raising events to support charities/good causes both locally and world-wide
