WOMENS INSTITUTE

Supported disabled swimming gala, British Heart Foundation, arboreetum, coping with cancer, girl guides, scouts, community mini bus, Xmas gifts for people in hospital.

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, the 146th Sheffield (Old Norton) Scout Group give young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skill they need to succeed.

Our charity supplements and supports the main activities of our parent rotary club and in particular our community service committee. We seek to make donations both to worthy local charities and to worldwide rotary international projects. In addition we also provide funds to assist in international disaster relief either directly or through the overall rotary family as a matter of priority.

WI ACTIVITIES

Financial and social support for the Island of St Helena

The main objects of the Society are to support the poor of the Alms Houses of the Lady Katherine Leveson Hospital and to aid in the upkeep of St. Mary's Church Temple Balsall and the Old Hall Temple Balsall. The full objects of the Society are as set out in its Constitution.

Provide learning activities for young adults & children. Provide outdoor activities for young adults & children. Promote scout ideals & standards of conduct for.

Scout Group providing activities and training in accordance with the programme and principles of the Scout Association. Co-educational, covering the age range 6yrs to 18yrs

Scouting.for young people

We are an Academy school PTA and raise funds throughout the year to purchase school equipment and to help provide a safe and enriching environment. This year we provided new libraries for each key stage. We hold fetes, raffles, discos and quiz nights for the parents and children at the school. It is run by the parents and teachers.

We work in partnership with other organisations to provide activities to meet the needs of the people living on The Chantrys estate and surrounding area. Currently we provide a range of childrens events throughout the year plus run table top sales and fetes to increase revenue. We are looking to expand the activities dependant on future funding.

Youth Club providing recreation, learning and social activities for children between the ages of 5 and 18 in the local area

Supports other local, national and internaltional charities

to raise funds for the benefit of the children at the school.

TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE TOWARDS RESPONSIBLE ADULT HOOD BY ENCOURAGING VALUABLE PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND HIGH STANDARDS OF CONDUCT, USING A NAUTICAL THEME BASED ON THE CUSTOMS OF THE ROYAL NAVY.

Fundraising

Scouting activities for boys and girls in our local area.

Fund raising, mainly in the locality of Stevenage, Hertfordshire and distribution of proceeds to charities and charitable causes supported the Rotary Club of Stevenage Grange

Thomas Wolsey School caters for children with physical and/or sensory needs. Many pupils also have complex medical and learning needs. The Friends of Thomas Wolsey School fund-raise for large projects and to buy equipment to enhance the children's learning both in the classroom and outside. The Friends group also maintains the mini bus, funds the Christmas Party and the Leavers' Gifts every year.

THE SPIRITUAL, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS

We are a Scout Group operating within the Scout Association and have three uniformed Sections. The aims of the Group are to instill in our members a sense of purpose and community service by means of a structured program of activities.
