We subsidise school trips. We organise social events for the children and Parents. We contribute to equipment for the school.

In particular, to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Wombourne and the neighbourhood by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the objective of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants.

Working to promote the role of women in the community

To support the restoration, repair, maintenance and beautification of the Parish Church of St Nicolas, Great Bookham in the Diocese of Guildford (hereinafter called ?the Church?) and of the monuments, fittings, structural fixtures, stained glass, furniture, ornaments and chattels in the church and churchyard, including paths, walls, gates and main services belonging to the Church

Scouting for young people

Providing a venue for the village for a number of group activities and meetings. For example: WI, Local History Society, Parish Council, Luncheon Club, Whist Drives, Jumble Sales, Art Classes, Children's parties etc.

Provides activities to promote the mental, physical and spiritual growth of young people between the ages of 6 and 25 years old

Various fund raising activities - raffles, santa's sleigh,

Supports a range of social activities for the benefit of all.

Run scout, cub & beaver packs weekly with indoor and outdoor activities, plus regular camps.

The PTFA raise funds to buy the children in school the extras they need that the school budget and the LEA cant provide.

Local women's group.Member of Northumberland Federation of Women's Institutes. Owners of community Hall available for use by groups and individuals.

We have a range of activities available such as rainbows, brownies, St. John Ambulance, Gardening Club, afternoon plus (social group for the young at heart), Boogie Bounce, Keep Fit, Zumba, tap dance, Stay and Play, Coffee Shop and we also hire out our premises for parties or social events.

We provide social activities in which the disabled compete with able bodied on equal terms. We take trips out-go for meals. Members decide what programme they wish to follow by putting suggestions forward for various activities. For example card making-planting up containers.
