Associations Charities

This is the Lodge's Charity fund for use for Charitable donations within the locality, mainly, though not exclusively to other charities and support of the widows of past Lodge members.

GIVE GRANTS TO NEEDY PERSONS FOR HEALTH/SOCIAL ACTIVITIES (USUALLY AGE RELATED)

Community activities at the centre of a rural area.

The usual activities of the National Federation of Women's Institutes. Support for women in rural and urban areas.

The Women's Institute exists to educate women to enable them to provide an effective role in the community, to expand their horizons and to develop and pass on important skills.

Fundraising in order to advance and enhance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school.

Sponsorship of Charitable events and donations through the raising of funds from both club members and members of the public

Guides for girls aged 5-18 (Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Ranger Guides) in the Berkeley, Sharpness.Slimbridge area. Member of the Girl Guide AssociationTrefoil Guild group for former Guides

The relief of the poor and needy or to or for such other charitable purpose, institution, society or object as the club shall in duly constituted meeting from time to time direct.

Snooker hall and childrens playgroup

Supporting women and widening their interests with furthering their education through visits and courses and a wide variety of interesting speakers at our monthly meetings.

Run fayres, disco's, raffles, to raise money to help with projects within school life, example help towards school trips, buy new equipment.

FUND RAISING, DONATIONS & BEQUESTS

To give women the opportunity of advancing their interests in arts, crafts, sciences, rural life issues, drama and other cultural subjects, by working together through the WI organisation.

Provides a safe place for children to play and enables those caring for pre-school children whether they are mothers, fathers, other relations, childminders, nannys or au pairs to meet other carers over tea and coffee whilst the children play. Toys and activities are provided and there are occasional social activities.

Monthly meetings with speakers. craft activies , Theatre Trips,Outing to places of interest.

Monthly meetings; Art group; Gardening group; Walks group; Theatre outings; Leisure activities; educational visits. Support for local community. Assistance with W.I.District, Federation and National events.

Provide education and fun for the children, through doing different crafts, games, trips and interacting with other children and adults.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

We provide specialist equipment for children in Perseid Special School. Examples include specially adapted minibus with wheelchair lift (enables pupils take part activities in community; building of hydrotherapy pool;provision of IT and Communication Aids; Plasma Touch Screens; Special playground equipment; Visits to theatre by the children; Funding of activities to support curriculum;

Girlguiding

A branch of the West Kent federation of Women's Institute

We organise church tours f or interested groups and hold other occasional events during the year to publicise the church for which we are raising money.

Donations can vary each year. During 2008 typical donations were made to Dorset Masonic Care, Julia's house, West Bay Sailing Club, Dorset Kidney Fund, Pilsdon Manor and CLIC Sargent.
