The Women's Institutes undertake activities to enable women interested in issues associated with rural life to improve their education in citizenship, public questions, music culture, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare and to improve rural life.

THE MAIN PURPOSES OF THE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE ORGANISATION ARE TO ENABLE WOMEN WHO ARE INTERESTED IN ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH RURAL LIFE, INCLUDING ARTS, CRAFTS AND SCIENCES TO IMPROVE AND DEVELOP CONDITIONS OF RURAL LIFE, TO ADVANCE THEIR EDUCATION IN CITIZENSHIP, IN PUBLIC QUESTIONS BOTH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL, IN MUSIC, DRAMA AND OTHER CULTURAL SUBJECTS AND IN ALL BRANCHES OF AGRICULTURE ETC.

Rotary is a social and philanthropic organisation operating internationally. Local branches such as Congleton meet regularly socially and also organize various events locally to raise money for various charities. Funds raised are distributed to mainly local charities (approx 70%) & some national and international in response to foreign disaster appeals.

To operate as a unit of and in accordance with the broad objectives of the scout association

Rainbows (5-7), Brownies (7-10), Guides (10-14), Rangers (14 and over) following interesting and challenging programmes at weekly meetings and residential events.

Provides a community centre for recreation, education, sports, social and spiritual activities for use by groups and the local population.

We provide facilities and activities for education, training, sports and other leisure activities with the object of improving the condition of life for the community. Activities are available in the day and evening and include activities for young people and adults including youth clubs, sporting clubs, education classes, health promotion and rehabilitation and exercise classes.

To provide those extra services and facilities for the local hospital which the NHS is either unwilling or unable to provide in order to help inpatients, outpatients and staff.

To advance the education of pupils at Roundwood Primary School by fundraising to provide facilities and items for education not provided from statutory funds.

Provision of 3 Halls, stage, committee room, kitchen and toilets for the advantage of the people of Mere, in Wiltshire, and to promote spiritual, intellectual and social activities, i.e. Plays, films, sporting, medical and social activities, lectures and public meetings. Annual grants are also offered to organisations and local charities within 8 mile radius of Mere.

Furtherance and promotion of the Jewish religion and Jewish religious education.

The provision of Scouting to young people aged 6 to 25 years

Scouting activities for young people in Witney, Oxfordshire. Ages 6 to 14, Beaver, Cub and Scout sections.

Working with and training young people between ages of 9 years and 18 years in areas such as canoeing, power boating, pulling, cooking, communications, shooting, drill and giving them the opportunity to go to sea in both powered vessels and sailing ships.

To provide patients in the Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital with comforts and amenities including facilities, buildings & equipment not normally available through the NHS & in certain circumstances to subscribe towards specialised equipment located or to be located at other hospitals which also serve our community.

Nursery, ballet, archery, scouts, martial arts, fund-raising, wedding receptions, birthday parties, and to provide the residents of Old Basing and surrounding districts with a first class facility at affordable prices.

The main activity of the charity is to raise funds for the support of the Community Care Centre by means of our charity shop and organising social events, attending fetes etc which help our funds and gain publicity.

Stationers Playgroup is a community run pre-school providing Early Years Education through play and social activities for two, three and four year olds.
