Bitterne WI enables women to extend their interest in crafts. history,citizenship,music and drama. It provides a meeting place for women to socialise and to work to improve their community.As part of the wider organisation of WIs it takes part in aiming to influence national issues especially those affecting women and family life.

To promote the activities of the Women's Institute within the village of Waterbeach

Raises charitable funds which are paid to UK & International organisations in accordance with the aims of Rotary International. Such funds are generated from within the local district.

(A) To promote the benefit of all inhabitants of Standford, Passfield and Hollywater by associating together and with other organisations; (B) Provide facilities in the form of a community centre for education, recreation and leisure and to maintain and manage same.

The Village Hall supports all aspects of community life. This currently includes a weekly Social Club for all ages. The Women's Institute meetings. Village Church activities. Community Council meetings and local Elections. Family celebration functions.

The Womens Insitute Is based onthe ideals of fellowship, truth,tolerance and justice, embracing the interests of both rural and urban communities.The main purpose is to advancethe education of women and girls for the public benefit.

Primary aim is to care for the beauty, history and character of Tiverton Town and its environs. Motto - Watch & Ward. Organise range of lectures, information plaques, heritage walks and social activities. Keep in close touch with the Town, Mid Devon District and Devon County Councils. Registered with Civic Trust and Outer SW Federation of Civic Societies and member of Devon Conservation Forum.
