Associations Charities

The Friends of St Luke's Hospital offer a guiding service for visitors to the hospital, as well as raising funds from the proceeds of two coffee shops on the hospital premises and through donations to benefit all at the hospital. From the funds raised, the charity is able to help doctors or hospital departments obtain items that would not normally be available through normal NHS funding.

Purpose of Scouting: To actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. Values of Scouting: Scouts are guided by the values of Integrity, Respect, Care, Belief and Co-operation.Scout Method: Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with adults, work together based on the values of Scouting.

The aim of the Higham Wood Scout and Guide Group is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. These activities are carried out with guidance from the Scout and Guide Associations.

Raising funds by sponsorship donation or activities for the relief of the poor and needy or such other charitable purposes as members of the The Rotary Club of Grantham may in duly constituted meeting may from time to time direct.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT. To promote educational, recreational and vocational activities for the community at large by activities run directly by the Association and the provision of rooms for hire to other organisations and private individuals.

The charity continues the management of the Blunham playing fields for recreational use on behalf of the public and the villagers of the parish of Blunham, Bedfordshire. This includes the development of facilities including the completed childrens play area and also the development of a new pavillion for members and sporting clubs.

SCOUTING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE ADUR VALLEY AREA

Community Social Activities such as Bonfire Night parties, Quizes, Amateur Dramatic Society performances, Keep fit, Extend, Bingo, Bowls.Home to Fairhaven First Steps, a pre-school group which holds four morning sessions a week.Shower and Changing Room for local football club and Cricket clubs. Cricket and Football pitch.Children's play area with equipment.

Rotary is a Service organisation which encourages and fosters High ethical standards in business and profession, serves the local society and promotes community life. In adition it seeks to advance international understanding, goodwill and peace through its fellowship. It has the resources to respond to specific emergencies involving mankind issues.

Provides buildings/facilities/open space for young people who are members of the Scout Association

Mondays - parent & toddlers, fitness suite, cardio rehab, bingo. Tuesday - indoor bowls, fitness suite, junior football training. Wednesday - parent & toddlers, fitness suite, decouparge, spiritualist church. Thursday - sequence dancing, fitness suite, cardio rehab. Friday - parent & toddlers, fitness suite.

As part of the Scout Association, to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential through a scheme of enjoyable and progressive training.The Council owns and manages the Scout campsite at Ratlingate, Kirkandrews-on-eden,Carlisle.

Provision of affordable theatre facilities for local amateur theatre and dance groups which have no space of their own in which to perform.

Scout Group. Camps and activities

Organisation providing safe environment for children from 6 to adult to learn / play / make friends. The scout group meets every week. Scouts have the opportunity to try many indoor and outdoor activites including camping. They have the chance to earn badges for various challenges they take on. On reaching age 14 they are given opportunity to become young leaders to help in training of others.

Operates Frimley Community Centre and supports community activities.

Runs charity shop/within Northwick Park Hospital. Draws commission from other traders in adjacent area. Provides cash for equipment/comfort to benefit patients of the hospital.

Financial assistance towards the running costs of Opera North, by organising opera talks, concerts and recitals and by publicising opera events in the region.

To assist in preserving, repairing and enriching the fabric and furniture of St Giles Church without Cripplegate in the City of London and its organ etc.

The money is used for young people who have left school and gone onto further education i.e. universities, NVQ courses to help them with books etc. Also organisations in the village i.e. school, brownies, play group.
