In order to meet with the charity's objectives the Trustees will make grants towards wholly charitable purposes in England,Wales and Scotland with preference but not limited to the following areas. advancing education, advancing health, the arts, culture, heritage or science providing relief of those in need by reason of age, ill heath, financial hardship or other disadvantage

To help educate the general public through a transport and heritage museum depicting th history of Alston Moor and the surrounding district through photographs, artefacts, general memorabilia and vintage vehicles

A choir which number 64 persons +. We perform concerts of sacred music twice per year. We charge a fee to attend but members subs subsidize costs. We use a profession organist, orchestra and conductor.

To treat injured hedgehogs and wherever possible release them back into the wild. To care for those hedgehogs that cannot be released.To educate both children and adults about hedgehogs and their environment.

Nenthead Village Hall Committee carry out the upkeep of the hall through voluntary work including general maintenance and cleaning. We strive to raise money through fundraising, hiring out the hall as well as through organising functions offering catering and licenced bars, this helps with payment of annual electricity & heating bills, as well as insurances, licences etc for the hall.

Family functions, fundraising events, club meetings, badminton and workshops. Budget accommodation for groups such as scouts etc.

Providing a building and play area in the village of Oulton

Kaber Village Hall Trust is a Charity run by locals of Kaber and Heggerscale Parish undertaking many community social & fundraising events through out the year. These include village shows, coffee mornings with children's activities, domino drives,heritage day, BBQ's and seasonal events. The charity aims to use the village hall and its facilities to support & promote the local community.

We run a Community Workshop in Alston, in the North Pennines. This is equipped with tools for a range of craft and making activities and supported by experienced volunteers. The workshop is a shared facility, to be used by a variety of activity groups. These groups aim to meet some of our charitable and social aims and include a Men's Shed group, a Repair Cafe, and workshop sessions open to all.

Provide beekeeping lessons and training in beekeeping to the general public at our apiary.Give talks to interested people on beekeeping Attend agriculural shows to promote bees and beekeeping

To provide an opportunity for young people to develop, to learn and to enjoy themselves by offering a diverse, fun and educational programme of activities planned by members, for members.

The relief of poverty and distress either by direct payments to individuals in necessitous circumstances or by contributions to approved charitable organisations or funds already existing for this purpose as approved by the Trustees.The advancement of education by contributions to such educational organisations or funds for the advancement of educational facilities as approved by the Trustees.

To maintain and run the Murton Parish institute (Village Hall) for the benefit of all our residents.

To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation for the inhabitants of Kirby Stephen and the Upper Eden Valley in the interests of social welfare for the said inhabitants with the object of improving their conditions of life.

The aim of Milnthorpe Steel Band is to bring steel pan music to a wider audience through the means of private and public performances, workshops and demonstrations in the public arena. We welcome anyone from the age of 8 yrs old and upwards to come and have a go wherever we are playing.
