Furness Lions Club is one of several Lions Clubs based in Cumbria. We assist in our local community where in the opinion of our members and trustees help and support is required. As members of Lions Clubs International we contribute to their appeals both at home and overseas.

The Matterdale Community Association (MCA) is a charity (No 1151528) which has been set up to promote social, recreational and educational activities for the benefit of the Matterdale community, and to provide educational activities and grants to young people. To advance education of public in appreciation of music & in particular piano music through provision of recitals & concerts via such other charitable ways that trustees may determine from time to time. Our educational aims have been achieved through our continued promotion of piano recitals of classical music given entirely by professional artists of international renown.

The aim of the Trust is to promote the education, in its widest sense, of young people under the age of 25. The young person or their parent must be a member or attender of a meeting of the Religious Society of Friends within the areas of Cumberland, Durham or Scotland General Meetings.

Working with local schools Rotary assists young local people to help them fulfill their needs, extend their aspirations, and help them achieve their goals. We help to relieve the plight of the disadvantaged of the world through projects recommended by rotary international such as water aid, vision aid overseas, and when disasters occur.

A RANGE OF CHILDCARE ACTIVITIES INCLUDING PARENT AND TODDLER, OUT OF SCHOOL CLUBS AND DAY CARE FOR CHILDREN AGED UP TO 11 YEARS.

Friends of Vickerstown raises funds to enable it to support the staff and enhance the childrens time at Vickerstown School. We do so by organising events, such as Christmas Fayre and quiz night, and taking part in a local sponsored walk. We also apply for funding where deemed appropriate and when we meet the criteria.

Education, friendship,and raising awareness of national campaigns.

Provides a venue for village activities which include meetings of W.I. and Parish Council. Other activities are, Dominoes, Art classes and social events organised by the Village Hall Committee.

The object of the charity is to advance the education of the public by the development, preservation and display of collections relating to the history of the practice of medicine, public health and healthcare in Lancaster and environs and to promote interest in the history of medicine for the benefit of the public.
