As a local congregation of the URC we seek advancement of the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the Scheme of Union of the URC. We are aware of our charitable obligations and endeavour to make decisions that benefit all. This includes regular public worship ; teaching the faith to all ages and supporting small local and larger national and international charities.

Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity (SWCC) was established in March 2011 to help fundraise for conservation work both home and abroad. The organisation will be responsible for raising funds and educating visitors about endangered species and also play a major role in providing funds for the on-site SWCC Hedgehog Rehabilitation Hospital.

WHCVS PROVIDES INFORMATION GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT TO VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY GROUPS IN WELWYN HATFIELD, SHARING AND DEVELOPING COMMON INTEREST. OUR ACCREDITED VOLUNTEER CENTRE SITS AT THE HEART OF OUR ORGANISATION AND WE RELY HEAVILY ON OUR VOLUNTEERS WHOSE HELP SUSTAIN OUR DATE TO DAY FUNCTIONS. OUR COMMUNITY CAR SCHEME PROVIDE VALUABLE TRANSPORT TO HEALTH RELATED APPOINTMENT.

Funds part-time staff to co-ordinate bookings and liaise with those attending the centre. Run events for older residents Lunch Club, Bingo. Hirings for local clubs - Pilates, Friendship Club, Children?s Club, PHAB club, Slimming World, Social Groups, Youth clubs local church groups. Hired to individuals for family parties etc. Holidays activities for children of all ages.

TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF POST-NATAL WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT AND PRACTICAL ADVICE.

The Harpenden and Wheathampstead Scout District supports Explorer Scout Units and the Scout Groups across Harpenden, Wheathampstead and Kimpton to encourage the young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we support our members by providing the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed

THE CARE OF SOULS IN THE PARISH OF STANDON

St Albans Bach Choir rehearses and performs a wide variety of choral music. It engages soloists and orchestras of the highest calibre but also has a tradition of engaging young singers, many of whom have since developed international careers.

The principal activity and object of the charity is to advance the education of children below compulsory school age. The Pre-school runs from Caddington Village School, where qualified and friendly staff provide stimulating and creative play, that enables learning to take place in a fun and secure environment. We look upon pre-school as the first stepping-stone to school and school life.

We have Sunday morning church services and midweek meetings for prayer and bible study to encourage believers and advance the Christian faith. We also run a Foodbank on a Wednesday to serve those in need in the community

These include but are not restricted to: regular public worship, prayer, Bible study, preaching and teaching; baptism following Baptist practice; communion; evangelism and mission; nurture and growth of Christian disciples; pastoral care; Christian training; teaching and inclusion of young people; supporting charitable social action; encouraging relationships with Baptists and other Christians.

To maintain a self-supporting Village Hall for use by all the villagers in Datchworth.The management committee ensure the Hall is manintained in compliance with all current legislation and is in a good state of repair.The Management committee run fundraining events, apply for grants and accept donations to achive their objectives.

The provision of a drop in centre providing social and recreational facilities, advice and support for adults with learning disabilities.

To manage and maintain Mrs Howard Memorial Hall, the first community building in Letchworth Garden City. This includes to rent out the property for hire, repair the property and hire staff to manage the property. In addition the charity will run projects from the premises with the aim to provide for the community of Letchworth Garden City and its inhabitants.

Community Transport Scheme helping those without access to public transport to get out and about in Royston and the surrounding villages in North & East Hertfordshire and South Cambridgeshire.

We deliver festivals and competitions and our programme develops young home grown coaches in their personal development on the school/community coaching pathway. Stevenage is renowned for a low aspiration and we have continued to develop our delivery to enable, empower and provide increased opportunities for our young people.
