The choir strives to: perform to a very high standard; engage its audiences by meaningful communication of the music; provide programme notes.The choir prefers to offer employment opportunities to musicians in the earlier stages of their career, and makes regular visits outside of London, e.g. to participate in cathedral services.

Hiring of a Village Hall for a range of community activities

A charity that educates and promotes farming and associated activites in rural areas to young people between the ages of 10 and 26. Activities include social events, competitions, trips away and courses.

Scout GroupThe Group's aim, in common with that of the Scout Association, is the physical, mental and spiritual development of young people. The Group meets the Charity Commission's public benefit criteria under both the advancement of education and the advancement of citizenship or community development headings.

Raising Funds in the local community for both local and international charitable giving. We are part of the Rotary International Organisation.Community activities include our annual Christmas street collection which benefits local charities, a 'Top of the Form' competition for local schools and other community and charity fund raising events

To examine planning proposals for their suitability of design and impact on the surrounding environment, encouraging good new design. We make submissions to the Council Planning Committee, speaking at these and Planning Inspector Enquiries. We provide education to members by arranging visits to new developments and societies in other towns. We hold annual party at which we present on new issue.

To provide a safe venue for residents of Clapham & Newby for meetings, social and educational and other community activities.

The Charity distributes grants to individuals in financial need in Hertford and the parishes of the rural district. Nominees come from local organizations such as the CAB, Social Services, NHS Primary Care trust and the local churches. The grants can be released very quickly on the verbal agreement of 3 trustees and the grants are later formally approved at a trustee meeting.

YFC provides a rural club for young people between 10 and 30, helping with social and physical development, education and skills
