Health Charities

We are a small local charity run entirely by volunteers. We provide blind and partially sighted people with a monthly audio magazine. our aim is to provide a variety of general-interest magazine articles together with a selection of factual and news-related items. By making full use of the Royal Mail 'Articles for the Blind' service we are able to provide this facility without any charge.

To promote the relief of Deaf people and their families, and to create opportunities for Deaf individuals to come together as a society, fostering community and reducing isolation. To raise awareness and understanding among the general public about the challenges faced by the Deaf community.

To provide on memory sticks, audio tapes, CDs and audio files on a website, local news for the blind or partially sighted, in the Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset area.

Small grants to people who live or attend school in Puddletown, for those in need. Examples of grants made include domestic appliance repair/replacement, travel to hospital, educational purposes, urgent car repairs

PHC continues the ideas of the Peckham Experiment, a famous study into health, where community of families discovered how to live a fuller life. Children and couples flourished and habits of healthy living developed. We have a unique stock of books and audiovisual materials that have inspired innovators worldwide.

To provide funds - by subscription and donation - to be used for equipment or otherwise for benefit of patients and staff.

We aim to study and promote the efficacy of promising natural health systems in the areas of health, peace, public health and crime prevention. As examples, multiple studies show that meditation creates a wide range of heath benefits that justifies wider adoption. 53 studies demonstrate how group meditation influences social trends including reducing crime, hostility and infectious diseases.

Leicestershire Deaf Children's Society (LDCS) is affiliated to the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS). We provide support on all aspects of deafness including communication, education, technology, social and behavioural and cultural issues. Membership is free. We provide social activities consisting of day and weekend trips, Christmas celebrations and youth activities.

To provide weekly recordings in audio format containing local news items and features.

Offers financial help to nurses who trained within the Leicester Hospitals and are members of the Leicestershire Nurses League

Provision of financial and other assistance to persons resident in the parishes of Bradfield St George and Bradfield St Clare in Suffolk during periods of illness or convalesence or persons who are handicapped, disabled or infirm.

Provision of support to patients of Woodbury Surgery, particularly in respect of transport

To promote within the catchment area of Coventry District Health Authority, the relief of sickness by carrying out wholly or in part, or funding or assisting in the funding of development schemes, projects and proposals at Coventry hospitals involving the expenditure of capital for which funds are not available or are not immediately available, from any National Health Service Source.

Benefits to the elderly/disabled and the sick - help with visits to hospitals, convalescent homes or similar institutions and to those in need and the bereaved.Assist fulltime students, living in Fritton, with funds for text books.

The Charity raises funds for the benefit of patients and staff by way of fund raising and subscriptions. It also provides volunteers for various activities at the Hospital and ensures that the needs of the Hospital are made known to the public

The benefit of York pensioners, York children and inmates of York hospitals especially ex employees of William Wright & Sons (York) Ltd. To help with the finance of medical research, art and music education and the provision of community centres in York and their facilities.

Providing financial assistance for the sick and needy within the villages of Claverdon, Langley and Norton Lindsey.

We provide digital sound recordings, of the best achievable quality, of edited extracts from the "Hampshire Chronicle" on a weekly basis, and articles and information of a wider interest as a monthly magazine, to blind or visually impaired people in Winchester and surrounding areas.
