Working in Nepal to advance education, relieve poverty, preserve and protect the health of poor communities, conserve, protect and restore the natural resources, beauty, plant and animal life through rural community development and conservation projects, work with local organisations to promote disability rights issues and to enable disabled children to achieve their potential.

Reviewing planning applications and making recommendations to the Borough of Barnet. Monitoring the local environment - trees, plants, open spaces, wildlife against damage and encroachment. Informing local schools on conservation and the environment. Informative talks to members. Maintaining society and local history archives.

General activities and entertainment.

The Herefordshire Light Infantry Museum collects, documents, conserves, exhibits and interprets items relevant to the history of the Regiment.

To provide for the repair and maintenance of the church of All Saints, Earls Barton and of the clock within the church tower and to contribute to the general running of the church and its fabric.

Acts as Friends of Swansea Museum;purchases items for its collection; arranges a series of monthly evening lectures, Presidents Invitation Lecture and 4 lunch time talks on a range of topics by specialists in their subjects;Finances a series of work shops for young people on local topics; Publishes Annually well researched contibutions in Swansea History Journal(formerly Minerva) and 3 Newsletters

The Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, acting as the Barr Beacon Trust, maintains a piece of land known as "Barr Beacon" for the purposes of public open space and recreation primarily for the benefit of the local community. The Council, as Trustee, is also responsible for maintaining and keeping in repair, the War Memorial erected on the site.

Maintaining and sailing two preserved sailing vessels a Humber Keel (Comrade) and a Humber Sloop (Amy Howson) We also supply information to schools on the working history and attend maritime festivals to promote the awareness of these vessels.

Provides financial assistance for the maintenance and upkeep of the church building and grounds of Beckley Parish Church.

The association keeps its members informed on all aspects of the conservation of historic buildings through an annual conference, regular lectures, visits and meetings. It publishes transactions annually and maintains a website. Membership is by invitation of the committee. Members are encouraged to introduce new candidates for membership.

We are a local civic society.Our aims are:(i) To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting Streatham.(ii) To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of Streatham (iii) To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in or affecting Streatham.

Completed restoration of only remaining horse drawn Shropshire Union Fly Boat 'Saturn' in 2005. Promoting horse boating and using the boat as an educational resource for schools and the local communities along the Shropshire Union Canal.

Monitors upkeep and planning applications in residential Conservation Area and public Deer Park & Elizabethan House.

The support of the PCC in restoring, maintaining and repairing the churches of St Lawrence ,Chobham and St Saviour, Valley End, both in the parish of Chobham, Surrey

To collect, conserve and interpret the heritage of Padstow and District. Providing display and access to artefacts and information relevant to the history of Padstow and District. Opening to the public as a Museum from February to December and at other times by appointment.

Management of the Cleeve Prior Memorial Village Hall for the benefit of the villagers and other user groups.

Promote and encourage a) the public study of family history b) the preservation of archival material c) educational activities. Hold lectures, discussions and exhibitions and to organise educational and research visits. Transcribe and where possible publish relevant material. Engage in collaborative actions with similar societies and with established bodies.

The Fan Circle International brings together professionals, collectors and enthusiasts of fans from around the world. Members are encouraged to undertake research into fans and fan makers for publication in our Bulletin, for which grants may be available. Grants are also given for the conservation of fans in museum collections and for educational purposes to promote knowledge of hand fans.

The Radnorshire Society is concerned with the old Welsh county of Radnorshire founded in 1930. It organises an annual programme of public lectures and excursions. It maintains an important local history archive and library and publishes its own 'Transactions', incorporating new research and archive material. There is a Field Section which co-ordinates separate talks, research and field trips.

The Society's area of interest is the pre-1974 city boundaries of Rochester including urban Strood.The Society's activities cover guided tours of Rochester, publication of leaflets/books on the City's history and making representation on relevant planning applications to Medway Council.The Society is represented on many bodies in the area covering tourism, built environment and conservation.
