Heritage Charities

To preserve or by making monetary grants to assist in the preservation for the benefit of the townspeople of Buckden in the County of Cambridgeshire and of the nation at large of the group of buildings situate at Buckden collectively called or known as Buckden Towers or Buckden Palace together with the land belonging thereto.

The Trust's principal object is to preserve, for the benefit of the townspeople of Ipswich, buildings in, and around the town which may be of historical, architectural or constructional interest.

Brompton Village Hall acts as a 'community hub' within the village. Organisations including the Local History Society, Brompton and District Gardening Club, Parish Council, Village Ventures Community Lunch club, Ducklings Toddler Group, Brownies and Brompton Primary School all use the hall. Other uses include fundraising for charity, private parties, musical evenings and educational classes.

PROVIDES VOLUNTEER AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE MUSEUM OF THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES

Provides financial assistance to churches for the purpose of maintaining and improving their bell installations by making grants to them.

Preservation, repair, restoration and maintenance of the fabric and grounds of Swallowcliffe Parish Church and the major fittings, furniture and ornaments of the Church and to foster interest in the preservation of the Church.

The Trust owns a collection of over 40,000 objects, documents and photographs chronicling the history of the King's Own Royal Regiment from its formation in 1680 to its amalgamation in 1959 with the Border Regiment to form the King's Own Royal Border Regiment. By agreement with the City Council of Lancaster, the collection is curated, stored, exhibited and managed by Lancaster City Museums.

The Society exists to preserve what is known of the village's past through documents, photographs, archaeological finds and artefacts from local industry and family life. The main activities are the operating and maintenance of Wollaston Museum, regular fund-raising events, educational and social events.

Promotes the study of local historical demography and associated topics by promoting education and research in these fields. Publishes the journal 'Local Population Studies' and other occasional publications, and organises conferences for members and wider audiences. Offers a book club to encourage the reading of material relevant to local historical demography.

This charity provides health services which include eye catoract operations, general medicine for all age groups. Currently it is providing this service to eighty villages in Punjab, India.

Provision of a recreation ground and Memorial Hall for the people of Whitecroft

Third Age Learning - general education - lectures, study groups, language classes, music apreciation, walking, nature, handicrafts, history.

To commemorate the life of Sir Winston Churchill by the repair and maintenance of his grave and the area immediately surrounding it in the churchyard at Bladon in Oxfordshire, and the repair and maintenance of the churchyard generally.

Provision of a meeting place

The Palmerston Forts Society acts as a forum for research on the Victorian Fortifications of the Portsmouth area and the U.K. A journal is published each year. The Society arranges work parties and educational programmes of lectures, talks and visits to forts. A section of the Society is the Portsdown Artillery Volunteers who regularly perform authentic Victorian gun drills and firings.

To raise money through fundraising activities for the insurance, maintenance and upkeep of the village playing field and village hall.

The construction, maintenance, improvement, and operation of a large model railway and other associated items of historical interest, for public exhibition as a historical 'working' museum, for the furtherance of the knowledge and education of the general public.
