Heritage Charities

Hull Civic Society monitors and comments on planning applications and aims to encourage high standards of design in new buildings and the conservation of historic buildings and those which contribute positively to the city's townscape. It holds public meetings October to April, summer guided walks and visits, provides a3 Newsletters a year and Update planning reports for members on email.

Wellington Museum Society collects artefacts, documents and illustration about the town and its area of influence. The collection is used to inform visitors of the town's history and its place in the world. The society also publishes booklets on local history.

Furthering interest in Natural History and Archaeology for Wells and the Mendip Hills

To advance the education of the public by affording them access to the cottage at 346 High Street in Petworth restored and furnished as a typical cottage on the Leconfield Estate as it might have been in Petworth's heyday as an estate town in 1910 or thereabouts.

To advance the education of the general public by promoting, and making available,the study of the local history and architecture of the Cynon Valley District in all its aspects.

To maintain the redundant church of St Mary-Le-Bow, Durham City, as a centre for exhibitions and activities related to the history and antiquities of the city and county, and for other educational and cultural benefits.

The Society, which was formed in 1968, takes an active part in preserving our heritage. We promote various projects in local history and offer advice. We maintain links with local archives, libraries, museums and groups connected with archaeology, family history and industrial archaeology. Lectures and guided walks are held throughout the year.

Financial and other support to Luton Museums

To promote the restoration upkeep and improvement of the fabric of Malmesbury Abbey its furniture ornaments and contents adding to them from time to time. Generally to assist Malmesbury Abbey in any way the Association shall from time to time decide for the enhancement of the Abbey and its contents for the improvement and beautification of the buildings or the services conducted therein or thereby

The principal activities of the educational charitable trust are to maintain Gilbert White's House & Garden in Selborne, with associated Field Studies Centre, as a visitor attraction & Accredited museum. We engage with people of all ages & abilities to promote enjoyment & exploration of our heritage through our exhibitions, collections, learning & education programme, outreach & access policies.

Kegworth Heritage Centre is a place for researching, recording and preserving Kegworth life, past present and future, as evidenced through artefacts, photographs, records and personal memories. As the village changes with time, the Heritage Centre will pass these on to others to provide a continuum, demonstrating how the intrinsic values of Kegworth life remain unchanged.

Funding of various activities including visits of pupils to art galleries, historic houses etc. Visits to school by theatre companies, musicians, and artists.

The WI plays an important role in the life of the local community. The speakers at the monthly meetings cover a wide range of subjects: travel, healthcare, cooking, arts,crafts and history. Outings are arranged to places of interest. We also cater at many village events. We take a great interest in current affairs and have mounted national campaigns.

Charity administers the village park, which includes a recreation clubhouse, a football pitch and a sports pavilion/war memorial, pathways and play area.

CBA West Midlands is one of the regional groups of the Council for British Archaeology (CBA). It publishes West Midlands Archaeology annually, reporting on archaeological work in the region, organises Day Schools, including the yearly News from the Past, makes small grants for publication, research and training, responds to planning consultations and liaises with other amenity bodies.

(1) To foster friendships formed by former members of Chailey Heritage School, both staff and pupils, and maintain contact with all old scholars. (2) To support the aspirations of the modern heritage and help maintain its traditions and history. (3) To maintain a benevolent fund to provide financial assistance as appropriate and to exercise due to discretion in making distributions from the fund.

To encourage high standards of architectture and town planning in Lancaster;to stimulate public interest in the history and character of the town and its environs; to pursue these ends by means of meetings, exhibitions, lectures, publication and other forms of publicity.

Based in its Community Hub, the Torpoint Archives & Heritage Centre provides the opportunity for community members & others to research the history of the town & neighbourhood through photographs, documents, displays of artefacts & family histories. Presentations are given to local groups. Facebook & email provide a platform for further promotion, information exchange & discussion.
