Our activities are very much community based. A small fishing village, with an industrial history of ironstone mining, and steel works, only a small specialised part of the steelworks remaining (steel brought in by road/rail, from Teesside). High number of unemployed/retired in an area of social deprivation. A good and tight knit community, the village hall provides for the needs of the community

To research and record the history of the fire brigades which exist and/or existed within the original Surrey county boundary. To acquire and maintain a collection of fire service appliances, memorabilia, photographs. records and other artifacts associated with the fire brigades within Surrey. To provide assistance and support toward research and education in relation to fire service history.

Preservation and advancement of the knowledge of Great Bardfield 's local history

The Objects of the Foundation are as follows:a) promotion of education, particularly art/science relatedb) provision/maintenance of the museum/art galleryc) development and improvement of knowledge, understanding and practice of the arts and crafts which serve the artsd) provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupations which meet the criteria

We hold regular educational meetings for members where Speakers talk on a variety of subjects. We also hold community focussed events such as Saturday market and Sunday brunch as well as weekly Chatter Cafe and Soup Club offering affordable meals, companionship and informal support. Our premises are available for hire, such as history society talks.

East Herts Archaeological Society works in several area: i) education/training in the field of Archaeologyii) art/culture via lectures and visits and working with other societies linked to Archaeologyiii) environment/conservation/heritage

womens institute. We are a group who have many activities and we invite speakers for learning about different topics. Our activities include, crafts, art, singing, drama, baking and many other different subjects. We also have speakers on history, celebrities , exercise, dance and choirs. There are many outings to theatres, gardens, castles and craft centres.we attend many events to raise fund

The Cwmgwili Miners' Welfare Committee meet every other month to arrange various activities to entertain the villagers in order to bring the community together and to raise money for the maintenance and improvement of the Village Hall. This year they have been raising money and received some Grants to establish a Miner's Memorial Garden on the village green, which will be an ongoing project.

Support for patients and users of the Chipping Norton War Memorial Community Hospital and healthcare facilities including maternity unit.

Preservation of the historical, architectural and functional heritage of Cobham Mill and its machinery.

Annual conference, supporting research, and publications.

Raises money for the maintenance and upkeep of a village hall for the general use of the community.

The object of the charity is the promotion of the efficiency of the South Notts Hussars Yeomanry by;a) providing facilities and amenities for training and during serviceb) relieving financial need of current, or past, Yeomanry or their dependentsc) providing and maintaining a museum to record the achievements of the Yeomanry

To support all activities commensurate with the museum's ongoing aims and objectives in particular recognising the past service of those who served in the regiment.

The Charity raises funds and offers support to Headstone Manor Museum and Heritage Centre

Meetings for educational/historical talks. Research on local issues. Conservation of historical artefacts namely photos.

Monthly meetings are held with speakers/demonstrators covering various subjects - educational and/or artistic. Visits are made to historical buildings and gardens and to various places of work to increase knowledge of the past and present.

Assisting in the restoration and preservation of the historic ship "Yavari" for the benefit of the public; and to advance the education of young people of Peruvian and British nationality, in particular to train them in the skills required to restore and preserve vessels similar to the "Yavari" and to provide them with work experience.

Giving Grants and advice to Church Bell-towers within the diocese of Swansea and Brecon for restoration and maintainance.

Assisting by grant aid in keeping the bells in the Guild area in ringable condition. Supporting the ringing of Church bells by education as well as grant aid.

Provides education on wildlife topics by providing Field Meetings and Lectures.

The society exists to promote the study of any aspect of the history of Lancashire and Cheshire. This is done through a series of public lectures and meetings, a grant scheme for research, schools and publications and the publication of an annual volume of transactions. The society's library is on open access to all who want to use it.

Promoting the preservation, protection & development of Ripon.Make annual awards to encourage high standards in any developments/refurbishments during the preceeding year.Commenting on planning matters relevant to Ripon with a view to promoting high standards in any developments.Educating members & the general public in the geography, history, natural history & general environment of Ripon.

Environmental watchdog.Planning & Amenities watchdog and awareness raising on the Isle of Wight.Promotion of Conservation and Restoration in sympathetic relationship with the environment on the Isle of Wight.Promotion of the Isle of Wight Heritage.

We hold lectures/activities to educate the public on the geography, history and architecture of area. We work to secure the preservation/protection and development of features of historic or public interest. We inspect all planning applications submitted to the local council and comment on these to promote high standards of planning and architecture in Skipton and environs.
