THIS CHARITY IS ALSO KNOWN AS CONFEDERATION OF AFRICAN NATIONALS AND DESCENDANTS ( CAND ) .CAND IS A VOLUNTEERING ORGANISATION FOR ' ALL AFRICANS ' THAT PROMOTES CULTURAL ,SOCIAL , HISTORICAL AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS FOR OUR PEOPLE .IRRESPECTIVE OF POLITICS AND RELIGION .

Promote the thorough investigation of the geology, fauna, flora & physical features of the County: bring together the interest in & study of every branch of natural history; hold & maintain library, records & reference material. Major activities:- Programme of Spring & Summer Field Meetings; Programme of Winter indoor meetings culminating with annual Recorders Meeting; Publication of Transactions.

Meetings for members during the year, these include interesting talks on various subjects ie local area history, film slides of early Sleaford and social get together for all members. Where possible we also undertake renovation projects around the town and or partner with Town Council/Local Authority on wider issues, which are then communicated to the community particularly our local schools.

Maintain the building that houses the memorial to the fallen of the 385th bombardment group.

Upkeep and maintenance of almshouses and the benefit of the residents

We meet monthly from October to April on the first Thursday at 8.15pm when our aim is to promote, encourage & co-ordinate research into the history of the Eden Valley by means of talks & discussion. In summer we enjoy a guided footpath walk & a day & evening outing to places of historical interest. We publish two newsletters annually & occasionally booklets devoted to local history.

Assisting with the preservation, repair, maintenance, restoration, improvement and ornamentation of the fabric of the Church of St. Andrew's, Moretonhampstead. Assisting in the funding of those expenses which relate to the upkeep of the organ and choir, the building and the bells.

two aims: firstly, to increase the knowledge of the history of our town and we publish annually a Bulletin of Research. This information can also be accessed on the Local Studies computer at the Library . Secondly, we hold monthly meetings open to the public where lecturers provide illustrated lectures on a variety of stimulating historical topics.

We meet monthly for the purpose of fellowship and have educational speakers. We support our village fetes with baking cakes and arrange outings to look at buildings, stately homes, museums and Federation activities.

The maintenance and upkeep of all the land belonging to the Charity and the provision of playground equipment for children on the land known as Turnfields Recreation Ground

Upkeep and maintenance of hall used for a wide range of community activities.

The charity supports students attending the secondary phase Academies in Weston-super-Mare by providing grants for Humanities based field trips/visits covering historical, archeological, geographical, conservation and environment curriculum study or projects.

Teaching of court dances through classes, workshops (including school residencies), demonstrations, short courses, and a summer school. Public performances of historical dance, with readings, are given at various venues, mainly in England.

Assisting with the educational purposes of museums etc in Oxfordshire including promoting cooperation,training and fund raising.

The object of the Fund is to provide financial assistance by way of grants to churches incurring expenditure on the provision, maintenance or improvement of their bells and bell installations or for the maintenance of their towers and belfries.

Supports the charitable activities of The Gibson Library, The King Edward VI Almshouses, The Saffron Walden Museum and other charities local to Saffron Walden and its people.

Trustees shall from time to time in their absolute discretion decide for the preservation repair maintenance restoration improvement and ornamentation of the fabric of the Parish Church St Francis Welwyn Garden City and for provision of articles for use in worship there.

This is an ancient local charity with very limited discretion as to the application of its income. Half of its income goes to St. Martin's Church, Little Waltham, to be used for its repair and maintenance ; and the other half to the village Poor's Charity to be used for the relief of need, hardship or distress.

Support of St. John's Church, Waterbeach, mainly by providing grants for improvements. Currently we have plans to finance the restoration of the historic east window.

The charity's objects are to preserve, for the benefit of the nation, land and buildings of especial beauty or especial historic or architectural interest within the city of Gloucester.

Promotion of Church Bellringing

Hold a monthly lecture/talk from October to April, open to both members and public. Summer outings to places of historical interest (on hold from 2025). Run Bridgnorth's museum, which is open from April to October.
