Activities include educating the public in the dramatic and operatic arts and to further the development of public appreciation by the performance of musical performances. Also the education of young people under 16 to be able to perform in such performances.

The week long Chapel Allerton (arts) Festival takes place annually in early September. Local performers, artists and community groups take part. Some events take place in the week and the event culminates in a weekend street festival. It is planned and run entirely by volunteers.

Music for Miniatures is a registered charity set up to provide opportunities for children and their families to experience high quality live music. We aim to excite, inspire, delight, and enrich the lives of children through live classical music, regardless of background. Picturing Health uses film and art in Public Health worldwide. We make films to train health workers, inform patients, promote community discussion and disseminate research findings. We evaluate the effectiveness of our work and build capacity of film makers and clinicians to make health films. Our partners include WHO, Medical Research Council, hospitals and international research institutes.

Kindred Minds is a user led organisation created in 2012 by and for people with mental ill health to meet and offer each other support. We provide activities e.g. walking, excursions, ukulele, therapies, yoga, crafts etc, a buddy scheme, all of which supports our service users with their mental health recovery and wellness, which enables them to lead more positive, confident and active lives.

We're a mixed four part community choir. We practice weekly on a Thursday night at Trinity Church Hall Gracious Street Knaresborough. Our members range in age from 24 to 93. We don't audition and everybody is welcome as we are a fully inclusive rock and pop choir.
