Arts Charities

The charity in the main provides support to charities in the UK and Overseas. It also supports with bursaries a limited number of graduate and post graduate students in particular those in Engineering , the Physical Sciences, Drama and Stage management.

Pevensey Memorial Hall is for the use of the community. The hall is hired out for Ballroom Dancing, Modern Sequence Dancing, Indoor Bowls, Guides and Brownies. Bingo is held every Friday evening and the Hall is hired out at any other available time for various functions. The Hall also produces a 32 page glossy covered magazine, The Parish Pump,distributed free to 5000 homes, three times a year.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and the appreciation of, the art and science of music, and in particular choral music, in all its aspects, by the presentation of public concerts, recitals and by such other means as the Choir through its committee shall determine from time to time

Athena Art Foundation posts on its digital hub and social media feeds innovative and accessible material about pre-modern art in museums and other locations around the world. The Athena team gathers material for the hub from a wide range of websites, publications, newsletters and promotional material, as well as producing podcasts, films, livestreams and other material of our own.

The charity?s objects are the advancement of the Hindu religion and Hindu culture and heritage for the public benefit in particular but not exclusively through the holding of prayer meetings and organising cultural functions and Hindu religious festivals (including festivals such as Durga Puja, Laxmi Puja and Kali Puja).

WE RAISE AND MANAGE FUNDS TO MAINTAIN THE VILLAGE HALL FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF THE VILLAGE AND SURROUNDING AREA. WE HOLD FUND-RAISING EVENTS AND HIRE THE HALL OUT FOR COMMUNITY & SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, E.G. BROWNIES, WOMENS INSTITUTE AND PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS, FOR ART CLASSES, DANCING & BINGO SESSIONS AND TO INDIVIDUALS FOR EVENTS SUCH AS WEDDING RECEPTIONS AND CHILDRENS' PARTIES.

To advance education for the public benefit in the performing arts in particular but not exclusively by writing, designing and delivering a range of events in the theatrical and dramatic arts, through hosting indoor and outdoor performances to:1. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF MARLOWE ACADEMY STUDENTS (& SUCH OTHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DECIDE FROM TIME TO TIME) AND INHABITANTS OF THANET AREA IN COMMUNICATION, BROADCASTING & OTHER MEDIA SKILLS AND TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND CITIZENSHIP FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THROUGH PROMOTION AND PROVISION OF A COMMUNITY RADIO STATION.

Provides facilities for the following groups:- 1) Youth club. 2) Drama 3) Horticultural society. 4) Ladies club. 5) Indoor short mat bowling x 2 6) Spiritualist church. 7) Private parties ie birthdays etc. 8) Dance Club 9) Polling station. 10)Craft Club

Annual Shakespearen production in courtyard of local hotel.Providing bursaries to participants who have been involved in productions and are pursuing professional training.Providing hire of staging, equipment and costumes to local groups.

We provide rooms for hire by the general public and organisations for, dancing, parties, concerts, craft fairs, car boot sales, sports such as Judo, short mat bowls, adult education classes,lectures, recreation, art and business meetings etc.

Promotion of an exhibition of contemporary painting or other visual art, currently every two years

Competitions for young people. Music, speech & drama, stage dancing. Held at school venues each weekend in Nov. Cash prizes, cups, medals given to winners in each group. Bursary & some sponsorship mayor of London Borough of Bromley attends.

The advancement of and the education of members of the public , in the art of Opera (and other performing arts) and in particular by the contribution to the cost of opera (and other productions and concerts) performed under the auspices of 'Wexford Festival Opera'

Border Crossings works in intercultural performance, education, community projects and publishing. The charity produces theatre in collaboration with overseas partners, and with diverse UK communities. It produces festivals showcasing diverse, minority cultures. Each artistic project is accompanied by youth and education work, particularly with minority groups and disadvantaged young people.

TO ADVANCE EDUCATION (INCLUDING THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION) OF CHILDREN IN PARTICULAR FOR CHILDREN FROM MUSLIM FAMILIES IN THE ARABIC LANGUAGE AND ISLAMIC STUDIES IN SURREY AND BERKSHIRE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.

To promote the study of all aspects of agricultural history and the history of the rural economy and society, through the publication of a biannual journal, a newsletter and a website.

Library service and related activities

Activities provided are based on identified needs of community in West Watford. We provide Coffee Morning,Baby & Toddler Grp, Art & Craft Grp,Digital Inclusion for Older People, Guitar Grp, Over 50s Exercise, Pilates, Reminiscence Grp, Socials, Vinyl Eves, Volunteering Opps, Yoga, Chair Yoga, Chess Club, Zoom activities, Drop-In, room & hall hire.

To provide musical training for Girls and Boys aged 8 to 26 to enable them to give performances as a band at competitive and public events.

Provides Christian literature, free of charge through books and booklets. Also through the free-will offerings of readers and supporters, we also provide financial support for sister organisation in India.The Charity operates throughout the United Kingdom and also parts of Europe.
