We raise money in the Falmouth and Penryn area for the benefit of patients - currently the advancement of health or saving lives, children and young people, elderlyand old and the general public.

The objects of the charity are the relief of poor and distressed Masons and their widows and children and the benefits of Masonic and other charitable institutions.

The Institute meets monthly for a two hour session. A Speaker talks for 3/4 hour and Institute business is discussed and social time allows members to interact with one another. When possible members get involved with the advancement of education and health promotion and environmental protection and improvement.

Education, training and social

Undertake activities to enable women interested in issues associated with rural life, to improve their education in citizenship, public questions, music, culture, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare and to improve rural life.

SCOUTING

To provide and maintain scout and cub activities and development for the young people of Calverton and the surrounding area

Informing and educating

Speakers of educational interest. Craft group to help underprivileged people in UK.

Meetings with speakers and outings. Smaller groups or classes for specific activities or interests.

To inform and educate and to provide friendship to a wide age range of women.

Many Guide units and Brownie Packs have enjoyed their activities with Poole East Division. Camping and outdoor experiences along with more adventurous activities at outdoor education centres. We have been part of the large County camp this year.

Monthly meetings in Gorsley Chapel where we have speakers on a variety of subjects. We visit local places of interest as well as theatre trips or evenings out for dinner etc. Members are able to attend events organised by the Gloucestershire Federation. We strive to involve ourselves in local issues plus those that are backed by the WI

To support the Cadets of the Cambridgeshire Army cadet Force and encourage enthusiasm, team work. Promote physical fitness, attract recruits and maintain membership.

The main purposes of the WI are to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences, to improve and develop conditions of rural life, to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions both national and international, in music, drama and other cultural subjects and in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home and economics.

To enable women to benefit from acquiring information from speakers
