Associations Charities

The objectives of the group are as a unit of the Scout Association. The Aim of The Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Beavers, cubs and scouts groups

The objective of the charity is to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the Scout and Guide Group Headquarters and assist the Scout and Guide units in the raising of funds for the maintenance of the Group Headquarters and for the running of Scout & Guide activities.

Youth Organisation

The charity provides premises for the benefit of the people in the parish of West Monkton for educational and recreational purposes. Users include, Badminton clubs, Dance clubs, Brownies, National Childbirth Trust, Camera Club, Monkton Players Drama Club, etc as well as specific events and exhibitions. Also meeting place for South West of England Samaritans Group.

The charity manages Great Brickhill Parish Hall facilities for the use and benefit of both individual and groups of residents from Great Brickhill and the surrounding area. The Hall is used by a Pre-School Group on a daily basis and by an outreach Post Office once a week. It is used also for a wide variety of sports and social activities on a regular weekly basis.

Lostwithiel Preschool, Baby & Toddler Group is run by a managment committee of parents and affiliates in Lostwithiel. The aim of the preschool is to enhance the development and education of children under school age in a community group setting.We hold a Baby and Toddler group once a week at which we welcome parents and their children to enjoy a range of activities and meet similar aged children.

Use of hall for village activities, including PCC meetings, mother & toddler, nursery & pre-school, pilates, yoga, karate, flower show, history club, cafe, parties, dog shows, weddings, film shows and country fair.

All scouting activities, which include: kayaking, archery, climbing & abseiling, camping, mountain biking, Music, Dance.

Up to 10,000 visitors a year since reopened Henley Collection. Upgraded Maritime history room reopened for 2010. Dartmouth's social and WW II story in 2011. Upgraded shop 2020. Accreditation 2008, 2011 and 2018. Talks in winter. Mayflower gallery Oct 2021. Outreach activities, schools/adults. Jesse Room (ceiling Tree of Jesse) during opening hours. Open 6 days a week all year bar 3 public hols.

General charitable purposes

The promotion of the Scouting Ethos, for boys and girls aged from 6 to 14, through a range of mental and physical activities designed to produce a self assured member of society.

To provide a Community Centre for many activities within the local community in the Borough of Stockton on Tees.

For use of inhabitants of the Parish of Mountfield and surrounding areas as a meeting place for village activities and recreations, such as parish council, social club, horticultural society, blind club, community transport, painting classes, dancing classes, birthday parties, wedding receptions, funeral wakes, fund raising activities.

The hall is hired out to Pre-school group, Cricket clubs, Probus, Woodmancote Society, Indoor Bowling club, Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies etc., Dog handling, Women's Institute, Bishops Cleeve U3A, parties, village events, and the Parish Council meet monthly.
