The objects of the Leigh Folk Festival Association CIO are to further public education and understanding of traditional and contemporary folk arts including: 1. Music 2. Dance 3. Spoken word (poetry and storytelling) These will be achieved by a series of events throughout the year including a free festival during June.

Our mission is the prevention or relief of poverty by making grants and/or purchasing specific items or services of need amongst those who identify themselves as being members of the Jewish faith within the City Of Southend and an outlying radius of 15 miles from the City Centre.

We help older people predominantly living in care homes to enjoy the best possible quality of life through meaningful engagement with friends and neighbours (FaNs) in their surrounding community. Our FaNs initiatives include the Wishing Washing Line, Intergenerational Colchester Up, Young FaNs Club, FaNimals and Care Home Bake-Off.

Providing Horse Riding Facilities for Physically and Mentally Handicapped people

The Contact Centre provides supported contact for children whose parents have separated and are unable to make other arrangements for child contact. The Contact Centre meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month between 12noon and 3pm at Avenue Baptist Church Hall, Milton Road, Westcliff on Sea. SS0 7JX.

Run fundraising events to help raise funds for the school to use how they see necessary.

Promote religious education, cultural values and community integration through regular monthly gathering attended by sikhs a people from other faiths. Teach music.Encourage children to take active part in the Society activities.Promote good relations in the local community by participating in the cultural and religious events organised by the local schools & societies.

Leigh Estuary U3A is a learning co-operative for the sharing of educational, creative and recreational opportunities. Access to membership is open to all local residents who are in their third age, viz. retired or semi-retired. Charges to members are designed purely to cover costs.

SOUTHEND FESTIVAL CHORUS TRAINS SINGERS OF BOTH GENDERS TO PERFORM IN PUBLIC CONCERTS IN SOUTHEND & SOUTH ESSEX BY PROVIDING MUSICAL RESOURCES IN MAINLY CLASSICAL CHORAL WORKS. WE ALSO HELP IN LOCAL FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES FOR LOCAL (& OCCASIONALLY NATIONAL) CHARITIES.

Religious activities

Barons Court Trust Fund supports two beneficiaries ~ the activities of Barons Court Primary School and Nursery; providing extra resources outside the Local Authority budget AND Barons Court Community Library and Information Centre; a community facility housed on the school site, which offers family learning opportunities.
