Helping in the community

Development of a community hub to host community activities including sport, leisure events, clubs and community events and meeting, external room hire with kitchen facilities tables chairs

Scorton Village Hall is used by the people of Scorton in Lancashire for community activities such as youth club, toddler group, WI, keep fit, dancing classes, parish council, church groups and by the local school. It is also hired out for parties, fundraising, events and fairs.

The community centre provides a focul point for the surrounding rural district, where community groups and individuals can hire the building for events, educational classes,or meetings, at a reasonable cost.

Local community activities

The object of the charity is to provide relief from poverty, sickness and advance education among inhabitants of the developing countries.

The society is an independent non-political organisation representing the interests of those living or working in Tunbridge Wells. It is dedicated to the conservation and improvement of the town and its quality of life. It vets planning applications and makes representations to local and national government. It promotes interest and research in local history, on which it publishes monographs.

The Housing, Care and maintenance of the Wolseley collection. The provision and arrangement in the wolseley room, or elsewhere of lectures, talks etc on subjects of argiculture and horticulture, garden design, history of places and lands in sussex and the history of old agricultural customs. Purchase of books, letters, maps etc and other objects of interest to be added to the wolseley collection.

The Charity provides a Village Hall facility for the Sheepscombe community. It sustains the good housekeeping and the sound financial controls to make the hall a centrepiece to the social and school life of this rural community. Further, it continues to develop the grounds and building amenities for its users.

Friends of Bulgaria provides humanitarian aid to Bulgaria focusing on improving the quality of life of disadvantaged children and young people through fund-raising raising initiatives and events. Financial grants are awarded by the Committee to Bulgarian NGOs and institutions on the basis of project proposals.

Philomusica is a mixed-voice choral society giving concerts in both rural and urban churches throughout Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, as well as performances in Pershore and Tewkesbury Abbeys.

Beaminster Young Farmers Club is a small group of young people between the ages of 10-26.

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN AGRICULTURE, HOME CRAFTS, COUNTRY LIFE AND RELATED SUBJECTS AND IN THE INTERESTS OF THE SOCIAL WELFARE OF SUCH MEMBERS TO PROVIDE AND PROMOTE THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATIONS WHICH WILL WILL ASSIST IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT.

Educational activities for members and general public. Publications, newsletters, lectures, visits. Local community activities eg consultations on planning matters, advice to local authority, developers and other bodies. Erection of plaques commemorating important local citizens and events.

To promote education, cultural and leisure experiences and events for people who are no longer in full time employment in Lytham St. Anne's and its surrounding locality.

TEACHING PEOPLE ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION. VISITING NEEDY PEOPLE AND HELPING THEM TO DRAW STRENGTH FROM CHRISTIANITY. GIVING PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AND HELP TO PEOPLE WHO ARE TRAINING FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT IN THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

Educational charity operating in the field of regional economic development.

A rural Youth movement for young people aged 10-26yrs. Members can gain confidence and recognised Skills in Public Speaking, Sports Competitions, Drama and Entertainments, Stockjudging and Cattle Showing, Duke of Edingburgh and Meetings & Social Events.

The village hall serves a mainly rural community. Currently a mens club, WI, gardening club, pre-school, carpet bowls, whist drives, bingo sessions, film nights, singing group; the hall is also used for monthly coffee mornings, quizzes, parish council monthly meetings and for various church functions. There is an annual pantomime and occasional village celebrations.

Monitoring Planning Applications, contributing to the Salisbury Vision replacement, putting up blue plaques commemorating people and buildings, producing a quarterly magazine and arranging visits and lectures for members.

A. To advance the education of the public in particular the education of people aged 50+ who are not in full time employment in the Newcastle Under Lyme & surrounding area. B. To improve the conditions of life for the over 50's in the above area in the interests of their social welfare by providing facilities for leisure & recreational activities.
