PROVIDES FORTNIGHTLY RECORDED SYNOPSIS OF LOCAL NEWS AND ITEMS OF GENERAL INTEREST

Social and Welfare group for persons with any kind of sight problems.

The purchase and maintenance of equipment for the benefit of persons attending Drybrook Surgery.Donate equipment to The Doctors, The local NHS Trust or individual patients.Arrange and support staff training.Circulate books, pamphlets, films etc.Raise funds and receive gifts, invest monies not immediately required.

Provides recorded tapes of the local newspaper for the blind or partially sighted and those with a disability which makes reading a strain.

Give donations to local and national charities, especially to those involved with mental health, cancer, the arts and children.

We are known as Stoke Mandeville Hospital Radio, we provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week service for the patients staff and visitors at Stoke Mandeville Hospital via 101.8FM, Online and via Smart Speakers.We provide music, news and entertainment radio programmes.

We produce a weekly news on tape/cd/usb memory stick, for the visually impaired or others unable to read a newspaper. Also a bi- monthly magazine

The Charity gives grants to support those suffering with Dementia and their carers.

Recording news for blind and partially sighted listeners.

To promote and extent the learning and knowledge of and research into ortopaedic surgery.The activities consist of the raising and allocation of funds to support appropriate medical research, particularly that undertaken by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Bristol.

Our charity is for the companionship, education & social gathering of women in this community. We are also quite willing to undertake other tasks for the benefit of our community. We monitor the health and wellbeing of our members particularly the elderly ones and provide contact and emotional support.

The charity gives financial assistance to residents of the village who need a little help with things like educational books, opticians fees, travel expenses for hospital appointments etc

We run a weekly drop in centre to support adults of all ages who have or have had mental health problems. We provide tea, coffee, various chocolate biscuits or just a friendly face for a chat, plus games, such as cards and Scrabble, and craftwork. Organised social activities are arranged monthly.

Income to be applied for the benefit of nurses engaged at the Guest Hospital and Eye Infirmary Dudley and in particular for the assistance of nurses in training.||Due to the change in status of the hospital over the years the main object of the Trust has been defeated and negotiations are continuing with the Charity Commission as to how the funds of the Charity may be applied.

To promote the better health and wellbeing of older people through encouraging inter-disciplinary training, research and excellence in practice and service provision.

Provider of audio entertainment for the visually impaired

Fund raising to purchase equipment and provide improved facilities for the patients in Alder Hey Childrens Hospital annd their families

Provision of small funds to the needy (if and when arises) and annually to Village Care (Car Transport service to doctor / hospital open to all village residents)

We hold monthly indoor meetings with speakers who educate and entertain us on a wide range of subjects, and we go on outdoor meetings to local places of interest. We raise money for members to go on courses at Denman College. We join in local events and raise money for local causes eg our local childrens hospice.

Provide information and advise for people with kidney problems. Hold open meetings for patients to have the opportunity to ask a doctor questions away from a hospital environment. Help and support kidney dialysis units.

This charity operates openly in areas where help is desperately needed. The most recent appeals made were for the Pakistan Flood Disaster, Bangladesh Cyclone, Bangladesh Cancer Treatment and Kashmir Earthquake Appeal.

Fundraising for the provision of equipment/furnishings necessary to enhance the wellbeing of patients, their care and facilities generally.

Support of Health facilities and care in the village of Great Staughton

The majority of our members are widows or people living alone. Our main activities are invited speakers on all cultural subjects. Educational outings. Separate functions to donate to other charities ie hospice & childrens causes. All members of NAWC.

The charity can assist anyone of any age who is in need as a result of health problems (including mental health) or because of disability (this includes learning difficulties) and who is, at the point of referral, unable to make provision for their needs, and who lives within the area covered by the charity. Grants may be made to organisations who operate within the area to assist such people.
