Health Charities

This society functions to give small grants to mainly christian churches to assist them with practical care for the elderly. This usually applies to extra assistance in winter also for summer excursions in summer. It includes grants for counselling visiting and advice and vehicles. We also give to other charities.

We also do halloween and christmas social events.We also hire out our rooms.

Assist pupils to attend schools, universities or other institutions or classes for the purpose of education, other than elementary in the Civil Parish of Sherburn House and other Parishes in the administrative county of Durham, who are in need of financial assistance.

Each week, a team of readers records the Hexham Courant, Tynedale's local newspaper, for distribution to blind and partially sighted people, and to other disabled people unable to read a printed newspaper. Recordings are copied onto memory sticks, and posted on Friday evenings. Listeners return the sticks to be re-used for the following week's recording. We normally have around 100 listeners.

The KTF is a christian charity which provides informative literature concerning alcohol and drug education, and speakers with an ability to deliver the same in an interesting format, to schools, youth groups, churches and individuals.

Serving the visually impaired and blind residents of the London Borough of Merton by distributing free weekly audio recordings on memory sticks and as attachments to Emails. The recordings include local news (mainly from the free local newspaper) and a 30-minute audio Magazine on a wide range of topics of general interest.

Action for the blind, the children

The Charity makes grants to persons experiencing or recovering from physical or mental ill health, to aid in their recovery or help improve their everyday lives. Requests and grants must be made via another agency, eg. social care services, health services, hospices etc. There is no direct contact between the trustees and individuals awarded grants.

Provision of weekly digital memory sticks of news for the blind

The charity operates in Gwynedd and Powys and offers assistance to the general public in the medical,sickness, and health areas.

Create and supply audio versions of local news, weekly, for visually impaired people. Currently using USB Memory Sticks and the DAWN website: www.dawntn.org.uk.

Provision of entertainment and information services to patients and staff of Epsom General Hospital.

To provide financial assistance to individual and charitable cases, within the local areas surrounding the town of Clitheroe, Lancashire, in relation to healthcare, nursing and social needs.

We provide opportunities for deaf children from our local community to come together. Christmas parties, farm visits, cinema trips with subtitles, sign languge support, sign langauge classes

The aim of the charity is to be self-financing and to support affordable leisure, recreation, sporting and social welfare needs, whilst promoting healthy living opportunities, to all the community of Calow village

The charity awards grants to local pensioners on an annual basis.

The aim of the association is to provide, free of cost, to the visually impaired, local news and magazine type material on a weekly basis as reported in the appropriate local newspapers and other reliable sources.

Gives grants for additional medical and disability equipment and festive cheer for patients and staff in hospital over Christmas at the Isebrook Hospital, Wellingborough and at other times of the year.

We provide specialist equipment for children in Perseid Special School. Examples include specially adapted minibus with wheelchair lift (enables pupils take part activities in community; building of hydrotherapy pool;provision of IT and Communication Aids; Plasma Touch Screens; Special playground equipment; Visits to theatre by the children; Funding of activities to support curriculum;

2/3 of income to the church charity, Reg No 206145. 1/3 of income to the parish nurse charity No 204752.

Alleviating the physical or spiritual needs of people who meet strictly defined criteria.Help is at the absolute discretion of the trustees.

The charity provides support for cancer patients and their families and organises meetings and talks (by surgeons, oncologists and Cancer related services) every 2nd Thursday of the month at Marie Curie Hospice Solihull, B91 2PQ. Counsellor's are available on hand if needed. Telephone support and up to date information is also offered.
