The relief of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing in particular by the promotion of the treatment education training employment and welfare of such people in the East Kent Area

Recording items culled from local press on tape (soon going digital), copying same and mailing to visually impaired residents in Thurrock plus a few ex-residents elsewhere.

Providing fortnightly local news and bi-monthly magazine recordings on USB sticks to blind and partially sighted listeners Sudbury and District and others with mobility issues;

Supporting the Porthleven Surgery with the purchase following fund raising of medical equipment and the servicing costs of some equipment when necessary.

Medical education

The Rowena Lodge 3180 Benevolent Fund supports Lodge members, Lodge widows and family members in cases of ill health or financial hardship. In the wider community, grants are made for local charities in the Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight areas, for hospices, cancer care and adults and children with learning difficulties. The education of children from deprived backgrounds is also supported.

THE CHARITY OPENS THE CENTRE TWO DAYS PER WEEK AND WELCOME VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE TO COME ALONG FOR LUNCH AND TO SOCIALISE. WE HAVE AN ENTERTAINMENT DAY EVERY LAST THURSDAY IN THE MONTH.

hospital radio in the Bradford Royal Infirmary, Bradford,radio to the patients around the wards information news and music,ward visiting and outside sports broadcasting.

Produce local talking newspaper on memory stick for visually and physically impaired people

Brentwood and District Talking Newspaper provides a service for the blind and partially sighted in the area. Every week a digest of news from the local paper is recorded and sent to our listeners on computer memory sticks. We also produce a periodic audio magazine - 'Sounds of Brentwood' - and a recording from the council's own magazine 'Vision'.

Donation to the Mayors Prostate Scanner Appeal, Purchase of Emergency Toiletry Packs for patients, Weighing Machine for Childrens Ward , Televison set, Digital Radios and Fansand rental of Water Cooler and supplies - all at Burnley General Hospital

A variety of fund-raising activities to support a wide variety of charities at home and abroad eg 'children with Leukaemia', Mary's Meals, children's hospices, UNICEF education for girls, are all supported in particular this year.

We are an Inner Wheel Charity. We collect money at various events and have donated funds to Diabetes UK, Stroke Assoc., Water Aid, Send A Cow, Kids for Kids , Guidepost Trust, Age UK, Shelterbox and similar organisations, These organisations contact us from time to time and our committee makes a judgement as to how much we should give

Recording weekly onto USB memory stick the local news for the blind and partially sighted of East Cambridgeshire

Helping people in Rochdale and surrounding district, who have Cerebral Palsy and helping their carers to cope.

Providing weekly recordings on audio memory sticks from our local (weekly) newspaper for visually impaired and any people in the area who are unable to read for whatever reason.

Providing advice to those with mental health problems; and their carers

We provide facilities for parents of sick children which are handed over for the hospital board to manage.

Enable deaf children and their families to join together to enable mutual help and encouragement through meetings, social occasions and advice. Provide a holiday playscheme for deaf children and their siblings. Purchase certain useful equipment for hearing-impaired children not provided by social services. To ensure local hearing-impaired children have equal opportunities with their hearing peers.

Awarding financial support to our local hospice, allocating monetary gifts to Elderly and needy residents residing within the boundary of the "Upper Holker Ancient Township", as well as awarding grants to apprentices who live in the same said locality.

To assist any resident of Ingatestone or Fryerning, during periods of illness, injury or infirmity, with equipment or financial help in case of need.
