The Crewe and Nantwich Talking Newspaper provides a weekly service containing local news to its listeners who, are in the main visually impaired. The USB sticks are sent out to listeners each week and delivered back to the Talking Newspaper Office by the Royal Mail, as part of a national service to the blind.

Relieves the visually impaired or those labouring under some permanent or temporary incapacity or disability which makes reading a strain by the provision of a range of materials in alternative formats and media. These currently comprise weekly local news and a magazine issued three times per annum in digital media format.

Raising and collection of donations from local community to help provide essentials equipment and support to local hospital and care home.

The charity has funds available to help people living within the parish of Tivetshall St Margaret. This could include, but is not limited to, help towards uniforms, hospital travel expenses, Lifeline telephones, aids and adaptations, school trips and funerals.Limited funds may also be available to groups benefitting Tivetshall St Margaret parishioners.

We provide Information Advice & Guidance on a range of issues, specialising in Welfare and Benefit Advice, Employment Support,Debt Counselling and Vocational Training Courses. We also provide a Legal Advice Session with a qualified solicitor.

Fund raising events for Bassetlaw Hospital.

Since the temporary closure of the Rothbury Community Ward the Coquetdale League of Friends continues to support the local health services and their patients in the community with equipment and services to enhance the provision and access to health care in this very rural area. We look forward to the re opening of the ward planned for 2022.

TALKING NEWSPAPER & MAGAZINE

We provide weekly digital recordings of local news to all registered blind and partially sighted people in the Vale Royal district.

The Charity provides for - The relief of patients suffering from cancerThe provision of equipment and facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patientsThe provision of transit facilities for cancer patients for treatment in other areas of the county

Hospital radio station broadcasting to the patients, visitors and staff of the University Hospital of North Tees. University Hospital of Hartlepool, James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton..

Provide Nursing Services, amenities, educational facilities and benefits for nurse. Make Grants for persons within Exeter who are receiving medical attention. Provide benefits to a needy person within the Exeter area.

From 1st April 2011 to 31st March 2012 we have supported the following organisations; The Walker Street Contact Club, Victim Support, Daggards for Charity, St. Mary`s Church, Swine, E Yorks, restoration, Castle Hill Hospital Cancer Investigation Camera, Camphill Family, Botton Village nr. Whitby, N.Yorks, British Lung Foundation, Province of Yorks. N&E Riding,

The Trustees shall apply the income of the Charity for such charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Port Talbot area (Defined as the former Borough of Port Talbot prior to the 1st April 1996) for:a. Educational purposes of young people between the ages of 16 and 25, or,b. Nurse training.

Provision of news and magazine recordings to the visually impaired in the Maidenhead area.

Provides Radio entertainment for patients in Furness General Hospital

Provision of equipment and support for Deaf Children

To provide equipment and medical facilities for the benefit of patients.

The relief of persons who have suffered a stroke; by holding regular weekly meetings for members and providing entertainment, therapy (speech, games, art, craft and exercise), social enjoyment, celebratory events, outings and excursions; also holiday vacation assistance and carer relief in special circumstances.

We are currently supporting the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Child Project, Teenage Cancer Trust and St Peter's Hospice indirectly ( by advertising fundraisng events to our members)

Getting members out of their home for a time for talking, singing, shopping, going out on day trips, holidays, pantomimes pub meals.Encouraging and assisting the members to carry out their hobbies and employing the skills of a physiotherapist to advise our group on the best way to help the members to get physically fitter.

PROVIDING WEEKLY NEWS AND MAGAZINE CASSETTES TO BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE.

We are a grant making trust. We focus on the prevention of suicide amongst ethnic minorities and mental health issues. We sponsor the Middlesex Girls Chess Championship under the aegis of Barnet Junior Chess. Most grants to West Midlands organizations.We are transferring our funds to Staffordshire Community Foundation but will continue to control grants from our trust.

Financial assistance for chronically sick and disabled people

To promote through the awarding of annual bursaries, the development of, and research into, excellence in practice in the fields of public health, health care and community nursing. Currently awards are made each year, with the particular theme and application details and timetable being advertised in the magazine "Community Practitioner" and on the Trust's web site
