Health Charities

To honour the charity of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by works of mercy, spiritual and temporal, the poor, the sick, prisoners, orphans, aged and infirm persons or persons in any other need. This includes the provision of a private registered nursing home.

Provision of Immediate Medical Care to the people of South Wales, by providing volunteer highly trained doctors to be on 24hr call to the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.

The principal activity of the society and its objective is the promotion and teaching of psychology to current and past Open University Psychology students and members of the general public. In order to achieve this the society holds a variety of weekend and day events covering a wide range of psychological topics, at various locations across Great Britain.

Counselling and training

Housing for needy - provided for 10 persons of either sex - normally of pensionable age who do not have the financial resources to purchase their own home.

In accordance with the Constitution, the principal activity of the charity is to promote the welfare, education, social and recreational needs of inhabitants within the City of Derby who are elderly or in poor mental health. The activities provide culturally sensitive services at the day centre on Burton Road and the main client group are members from the African and Caribbean communities.

As our name suggests, we are a friendly group whose main fundraising activity is the provision of refreshments for patients, staff and visitors from our coffee bar in North Tees Hospital. Funds raised provide patient comforts and amenities not available through the NHS.

Offering affordable accomodation to ladies of all ages and all circumstances, who may have difficulty renting in the private sector.

Research into Deaf issues.

Personal development, support students, meditation, help to deal with stress, problem solving, families welfare, integrating with local communities, keeping youngsters off the street and off knife crimes and also off troubles.Social and cultural activities including performing and participating in national cultural events regularly every year.Supporting and advising all individuals.

To promote the Buddhist faith of the New Kadampa Tradition throughout Co. Durham, North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley.

THE OBJECTS OF THE LEAGUE SHALL BE TO ASSIST PATIENTS AND FORMER PATIENTS OF STRATTON HOSPITAL AND OTHER PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY, WHO ARE SICK, CONVALESCENT, DISABLED, HANDICAPPED, INFIRM OR IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE AND GENERALLY TO SUPPORT THE CHARITABLE WORK OF THE SAID HOSPITAL AND COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE SERVICES IN THE AREA SERVED BY THE HOSPITAL.

In 1981, following various negotiations and proposals between the present Chairman of the Abbess Adelicia Charity and the then Lord Salisbury (since deceased) the owner of the Ilford Hospital Chapel complex, the site, including the Chapel and a ?50,000 endowment was transferred to the newly formed Abbess Adelicia Charity which has administered the Ilford Hospital Chapel complex ever since.

THE RELIEF OF PERSONS SUFFERING INJURY OR ILLNESS BY THE PROVISION OF IMMEDIATE CARE IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL REGION OF CHESHIRE, MANCHESTER, MERSEYSIDE, LANCASHIRE AND ADJACENT AREAS AND TO ADVANCE THE STUDY OF IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE BY THE PROVISION OF TRAINING.

Relieve patients and former patients of the Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel) who are sick, handicapped or infirm and generally to support the charitable work of the Hospital including related research

Projects funded by the M.L.G.S are ensuring patients attending Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton receive treatment for leukaemia and related blood disorders by the most up-to-date techniques whilst research is helping to combat these dreaded diseases on a worldwide basis.

The Charity collects donations for the free and, in some cases, subsidised treatment of poor patients at "Welfare Hospital Bharuch and Research Centre", for the promotion of health and for the advancement of education in the Bharuchi Sunni Muslim Vahora Patel Community in India.

Such charitable purposes as advance the religion and other charitable work as the Trustees think fit (teaching and nursing) for no financial reward.

The charity provides aid to former district nurses employed in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland whom through age, ill health, accident or infirmity are unable to maintain themselves, and also to provide relief to those persons resident in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland who are sick, convalesent, disabled, handicapped or infirm.

Grants for the benefit of individuals generally on application by Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers and Voluntary Organisations when statutory provision cannot be used.Activity is restricted to helping people who live within a 7 mile radius from the centre of Reading who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm.

A drop in centre for people with Multiple Sclerosis, their family and carers. We aim to help them cope with the affects of this disability through therapies, exercise and listening

Monthly meetings for education of trainees and consultant dermatologists in rare and challenging dermatological cases. Annual symposium based on a dermatological topic.
