Health Charities

The object of the League is to support the charitable work of the Clevedon Hospital. The Charity supplements the service provided by the hospital for the health, welfare and comfort of the patients therein and in the community, by the provision of facilities, building and equipment which may be required for the treatment of patients, or for the efficient running of the hospital.

Community Centre for use by village and surrounding area for all age groups for sports, fund raising, keep fit, marshall arts and many other social activities, including Day Centre. There is also a library, play group and Doctors branch surgery on the site.

The promotion and development for the benefit of the public, the study of and research into cardiology and all its branches and likewise the promotion and development of improved methods of cardiology, also the purchase of training books, funding of courses and the supply of cardiology equipment to local hospitals.

Aiding the wellbeing of babies and mothers in the special care baby unit of the the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, by provision of equipment and materials that otherwise may not be available.

The Charity makes grants to individuals to promote and encourage the continuing education and training in medicine of doctors, nurses and midwives working in the area and of others concerned with the treatment of patients within the area. To promote medical research and its dissemination.

Contribute to the general comfort and well being of patients at Ysbyty Bryn Beryl, Pwllheli

To work to enhance the quality of life for people in the local community affected by ill health, disability or old age. Also to support the care and well being of patients/users at Savernake Hospital and other local health care facilities, local G.P. surgeries and help to improve the medical provision for these patients/users in the Marlborough area.

The charitable trust was set up in memory of the late Mrs Else Meindl in 1987.In order to perpetuate her memory, the Youth Platoon project was launched in 2024. This mental health initiative empowers teens with emotional resilience and self-regulation skills. We fund Hospitals, Orphanages,homes for the elderly and bodies distributing relief to the needy and educational organisations, including schools, in Malawi.

Support children and young adults suffering from Familial Dysautonomia. We pay for physio and therapy and medicine not available under the NHS, financial help for the families who need respite care. Assist with travel to USA FD centre for assessment and treatment. We update sufferers and families with information of research and treatments and information about genetic testing .

Social Centre for the Deaf Community of West Wales and surrounding area including youth activities

To provide a ministry team to lead Christian services in Prisons, Churches and Christian Fellowships, Hospitals and homes abroad. To provide material aid to widows,orphans, prisoners and other underprivileged people abroad.

To assist people who are sick or injured or disabled through a sports injury by providing one-off grants for items such as surgical treatment or medical equipment which could enable the individuals to improve their lives.

A community choir which holds three concerts each year.Soloist parts are sung by students from the major music schools and musicians from music schools play instruments.Collections are made for worthy charities including Teenage Cancer Trust,Children with Leukaemia,Surrey Air Ambulance,Headway Surrey , Aspire ( for spinal injuries). Dementia UK,Cancer Research , Heart Research UK .

PROVIDE A HYDROTHERAPY POOL FOR SEVERLY DISABLED CHILDREN

The Gatty Hall functions as the centre of village life for the community of Ecclesfield and the surrounding area. Weekly activities on offer are badminton, ballroom dancing, hand bell ringers, Brownies, Guides, playgroup, toddler & mums group, craft workshop, mothers union, ladies group, line dancing, dancing class, local M.P. monthly surgery and ad hoc bookings. With in the Pitchcombe Parish and surrounding local areas we provide facilities for the benefit of the inhabitants in regards to arts/culture, sport/recreation, economic/community development/stroke employment by providing buildings/facilities/open space.

MSSC is a sports and social club for visually impaired people and sighted members. We run regular cycling, walking, bowls, darts, swimming, canoeing and social activities including quizzes, theatres, brewery tours and much more from our base in Colliers Wood, Merton. We try to partner with other organisations in Merton and beyond that support us through fundraising and shared activities.

Helping elderly nurses, whether registered or enrolled, of giving grants to nurses taking Post Registration or Enrolment courses and by providing aid to any nurse in distress who has worked in the qualifying area for a reasonable period

Provide support and transport for outings to the coast or other places of interest to our members. We provide safe transport to enable our members to go out with friends to bingo halls, restaurants, theatre etc in the evening. Support and provide our members with transport for hospital and home visits.

Fundraising and finanical support to Ripon Hospitals

Offering a professional & confidential counselling service in Stockport and the surrounding area, plus 'Drop-In' Listening services in Stockport and Romiley. We also run training courses for Counsellors and Listeners.
