Health Charities

We are a small family trust usually meeting in April/October. We only accept postal applications: please do not phone. Do include s.a.e. for response if unsuccessful . We generally give grants to charitable projects within 40 miles of Brailes, S.E.Warwickshire, including church repairs, hospital and hospice projects, village appeals, and "character forming" activities for young people.

The support and assistance of poor persons who are aged, infirm, blind or ill.

Breast Cancer. Heart Foundation , Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Sight Support Derbyshire, Chesterfield Kidney Association, Sand Dams, Help for Heroes, McMillian, small donations to local people.

The Charity is a grant-making charity. It distributes grants from capital and income for charitable works, mainly Evangelical non-ecumenical Churches and charitable activities undertaken by Evangelical Christian bodies and charitable agencies for the support of the elderly and terminally ill. As the charity is winding down, it is unable to accept any future applications.

Skipton Temperance Hall Fund makes donations to local charities involved in a) helping people with alcohol or drug problems, b) organisations which help people in need, c) organisations which encourage a healthy lifestyle and d) organisations involved in youth work.

We assist renal patients and their carers in the Sheffield and surrounding area by giving small/medium grants to those having specific financial needs. Kidney research grants are given to Northern General Hospital, the main treatment centre for our members.

RAISE FUNDS FOR LOCAL HOSPITALS AND SCHOOLS SPECIALISING IN THE RELIEF OF EPILEPSY

BARNA is the only UK professional association specialising in anaesthetic and recovery nursing.BARNA has provided competencies/educational material to standardise clinical practice.BARNA publishes on-line journal and monthly newsletter available to all members. We have an annual conference that covers all of the UK. We also promote ongoing training, research and clinical audit among nurses.

The principle activities of the charity involve the provision of residential services and support for mental and physical restoration of persons suffering from drug and alcohol abuse or similar problems.

To assist financially or otherwise, those personnel, or former, or retired personnel and theiri mmediate dependants, who by virtue of illness or premature retirement, or any other reason are in need.

The funds are used for research into paediatric diseases, education of staff and for equipment, which would assist in the welfare of sick children within the area covered by the Wessex regional hospital board.

The club aims to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors, to provide information and to support their families. Membership is open to all who have suffered a stroke irrespective of age, race or gender. Activities are designed to stimulate the mind and body to help with continuing rehabilitation in a social setting. The club helps demonstrate that there is life after stroke.

Provides practical and emotional support and assistance to breast cancer patients and their families. Our Counsellors offer help on a voluntary basis at the same time as working along side the professionals at the local hospital. We also offer a help line service.

The charity uses the money for charitable purposes in Nash village. We help parishioners who require funding for visits to hospitals & doctors for medical reasons. The charity helps children and young people to fund educational needs. The charity gives grants to other organisations for the welfare of the residents of Nash.

Doncaster Deaf Society serves and provides a centralised, safe base meeting point of social contact for wellbeing. Services cover BSL Advocacy, Advice & Information to the Doncaster Deaf Community Borough-wide and the provision of five BSL Groups who organise a range of activities & day/weekend trip from early years-elderly: OAP Club, Social Club, Happy Hands Playgroup, Leisure Club & Drama Group.

Provision of support and information for people with alcohol problems

The objects of the charity is to benefit sick needy persons resident within Lancs, Gr. Manchr, S. Cumbria, Liverpl and Sefton with up to 20% of the net yearly income being available for the benefit of retired district nursing staff who have worked in the same area. There is no restriction on the overall amount to benefit the sick needy. Application of amounts is at the discretion of the trustees.

To assist, in cases of financial need, persons resident in Thatcham and around who have health needs of any kind by providing or paying for items, services or facilities which help and assist the recovery of such persons but which are not readily available to them from other sources and, where funds allow, in cases of financial need alone.

Fund raising to provide extra resources for hospital patients and those in the community needing support.

The charities activities are those of providing funding for those in need in the St Helens area. This is achieved by donating investment income arising on the permanent endowment fund.

To promote transplantation by paying expenses to allow transplantees from the area covered by the Leicester General Hospital Transplant Unit and the Leicester Royal Bone Marrow unit to attend the British Transplant Games.

Support of local good causes and charities through volunteering and fund raising, especially for children, special needs children and the elderly. These local charities include Thames Hospice, Alexander Devine, Maidenhead Foodshare and Thames Valley Adventure Playground.Schools competitions.International charities supported by Rotary International and through contact from other Rotary Clubs.

Snooker club, bridge club, bridge classes, polling station, meeting house, local drs surgery car park.

We support people with hearing loss in Derby/Derbyshire with 17 monthly outreach sessions in the community supporting people with advice, hearing aid servicing and to reduce social isolation as well as two sessions weekly in the local hospital. We also have a wide variety of assistive equipment for demonstration and offer training, presentations to groups as well as campaigning for better services
