Health Charities

The trust was registered in 1915. Its purpose was to assist TB patients and their families. The Trust aims to give money to help purchase those items which fall outside the scope of the statutory Social Services and NHS. In recent years the following organisations have benefited:St Francis Hospital, Katete, Zambia, GROW and TB Alert.

The charity has operated principally in the Tees Valley area. It provides counselling services using a team of volunteers and provides training in pastoral care and counselling.

Hertford & Ware Sea Cadets is an organisation to serve young people - our aim is; training for all water activities from - sailing-rowing-motor boat safety-health and wellbeing of young people. To work together as a unit or team.

GENERAL CHARITABLE ACTIVITY PRINCIPALLY FOR THE RESIDENTS OF MADRON PARISH

Main activity: The provision of free debt advice. Supplementary:- Assistance with applications for welfare benefits.

We provide all areas of welfare and benefit to blind & partially sighted people in the Barnsley borough.

The association aims to: promote public awareness in the nursing care of children and young people, promote optimum standards of nursing care to children and young people at home and in hospital, recognise the needs of parents/carers and offer appropriate guidance, support and comfort and promote nurse education/research in the specialist area of children and young people.

The principal objective of Aims2Cure is to promote medical research into the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis; to disseminate the useful results of such research and to relieve persons suffering from multiple sclerosis and associated diseases.

Running of Alms housing trust

The Bereavement Counselling Service has been available in Warrington since 1987. It was set up as a charity and is validated by the charities commission.The service was primarily set up to support and counsel people who live in the Warrington area who are having difficulties with the natural grieving process, in particular the protection and promotion of good health, both mental and physical.

The Neonatal Society was founded in 1959 to bring together scientists and clinicians with an interest in the fetus and newborn. The object of the Society is the promotion of Neonatal Science. McCance travel bursaries are available to support researchers who would otherwise be unable to attend the Society's meetings in the UK. The Society hosts four annual commemorative lectures.

Fund raising consists of hospital retail shop. We run various raffles and receive funds from collection boxes placed in retail shops in the area. We also hold a Christmas raffle and bazaar. We also obtain funds from the sale of donated goods. Additional fund raising events are held from time to time as and when decided on by the trustees.

We provide a three monthly news bulletin magazine for our members in the Midlands area.We make grants to individuals and provide care and counselling services to people with special needs e.g. people with an ileostomy and we raise funds to cover our activities.

Raising funds to supplement the service provided by the NHS Trust for the health, welfare and comfort of the patients.

The Dempster Trust assists financially individual persons resident in Farnham, those who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, by making one off grants of money, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.

Trustees use the yearly income of the Fund for the benefit of people convalescing after treatment as in-patients or out-patients of Huddersfield hospitals. Support may be of the following. Special foods, medicines or appliances. Household goods such as washing machines, fridges etc. Floor coverings, cleaning services. Clothing, bedding. Holiday for convalescence.

The objective of the Organisation shall be to relieve sickness, infirmity and old age amongst persons living in the Exeter district, by providing a local broadcasting service for hospitals, old peoples homes and similar institutions and in furtherance of the objective.

Upkeep of three Almshouse to rent to individuals in housing need in Malmesbury

To maintain the village hall by fundraising and put on events for the local community (eg bingo, skittles, quiz nights, dog training ). We also put on events to fund raise for other charities such as Air Ambulance, MacMillan, etc. The hall is also used by the Parish council and as a polling station

The Obelisk Centre provides recreaional facilities in the actual building and playing fields.The facilities are available for use by a local football club providing training and social arrangements for boys and girls under 18 years of age. During the summer months a cricket club uses the facilities as does a local blind elevenThe facilities are available free of use by disabled organisations

To distribute interest on the capital fund at the discretion of the trustees to charitable organisations carrying out research work into heart cancer arthritis rheumatism and other serious health complaints or to any other registered charity doing work for the relief of sickness

To support the care of newborn infants, their parents and families and the heathcare staff on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Regular Monday evening meetings consist of a beginners' class, for which no charge is made, an open lecture, an astrological discussion group and a more advanced class. Meetings are open to both members and non-members. The Astrology Quarterly is published 4 times a year, a magazine which is free to members. An annual seminars is held, focused on a specific astrological theme.
