The purpose of The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust is to collect, document, preserve, display and to provide greater access to the material and stories that convey the military life of Oxfordshire and its people through the museum and associated activities. By providing a home in a purpose built museum, SOFO operates a museum increasing public access to this material.

To preserve for the benefit of the people of Greater London the historical, architectural and constructional heritage that may exist in and around Greater London in buildings (including any structure or erection and any part of a building as so defined) of particular beauty or historical architectural or constructional interest including those relating to the performing arts in Great London.

To provide a community centre for the people of Bedale and the surrounding area and to maintain the grade1 listed Bedale Hall, including its historic 18th century ballroom.

Activities centre on promoting education, knowledge and research into the life and works of the poet Lord Byron and the history, literature, philosophy and culture associated with him. The society arranges regular lectures and seminars on these topics, sponsors associated conferences and cultural events and grants a PhD Bursary as a funding contribution to postgraduate academic research.

To hold the regimental collection, preserving, safeguarding and displaying the articles to their best possible advantage.To apply funds at their disposal to acquire uniforms, medals, pictures, books, manuscripts, maps, documents and other articles suitable to enhance the collection.To uphold the traditions of the regiment.

The Trust owns and runs Brook Rural Museum. The Museum is housed in a magnificent 14th century barn and an important early 19th century oast house, and is devoted to an important collection of objects relating to the agriculture of Kent. Most of the collection relates to the period when animals provided the main source of power for farm work.

The construction of a permanent memorial to perpetuate the memory of the men of all three Services who mounted and supported the Raid on St Nazaire on 28th March 1942.The development and maintenance of a programme of education based on the memorial.

The publication of books, magazines and newsletters on all aspects of industrial railways and locomotives.The provision of a comprehensive archive consisting of books, drawings, photographs, maps etc covering all aspects of industrial railways and locomotives.Visits to industrial railway sites.The dissemination of historical information about industrial railways and locomotives

Museum for the benifit of the public

We hold both field and indoor meetings throughout the year to assist in the study of natural history, geology and archaeology in relation to the Isle of Wight. We also manage a biological database and provide records to the Isle of Wight Council.

The Charity governs The Keep Military Museum in Dorchester, in succession to The Devon and Dorset Military Museums Charity (1054956)

The object of the Trust is to advance the education of the public by the promotion, support, assistance and improvement of the Royal Albert Memorial Museum including its galleries, displays, collections, amenities and facilities, educational and research activities and community outreach and engagement programmes.

Support and maintain Grade 1 listed church building. Raise funds for various church activities and mission overseas.

The Ideas Matter charity seeks to renew social life through debate, discussion and education about the big ideas that have inspired humanity. Ideas Matter believes that the basis of good citizenship and education, our charitable purposes, is engagement with the ideas that have been articulated, challenged and discussed in major events throughout history.

Chorlton Good Neighbours recruits local volunteers to help support older people in Chorlton , Chorlton Park and Whalley Range. Services include transport , visiting and 1-1 support, small DIY and other practical jobs. The group also runs weekly exercise sessions for over 65's, coffee mornings, singing, history, drama , Art ,positive living and gardening groups as well as regular day trips/parties.

AMOT exists to represent, support and promote the Regimental and Corps museums of the British Army. Founded in 1954, the network includes over 140 Army museums and collections. Members can access funding, training and events. We provide specialist advice on governance, collections, audience and research, and represent Army museums to the wider heritage sector and external organisations.

St Mary's is a centre of worship for the villages of Embsay and Eastby. The members of St Mary's also lead and participate in a varied range of secular activities in the wider community. St Mary's church is a Grade 2 listed building and the maintenance and sharing of our heritage with local people and visitors is an active part of this charity's role.

The Trust will overhaul and operate the locomotive (71000 Duke of Gloucester) as closely as possible to its original condition, but accounting for modern demands. The overhaul of the locomotive has continued through the year. Tyseley Locomotive Works continues to employ an apprentice to focus on the locomotive.

The Charity maintains four almshouse properties and grounds to a comfortable living standard for its residents. The Charity has 20 apartments across three locations, two sites in St Nicholas Hurst and one in Twyford.Two of the buildings are Grade II listed C17 brick buildings, one is a 1960s terrace of bungalows and the fourth is purpose-designed terrace completed in 2019.

Help restore the manipay Green Memorial Hospital and bring it back to a fully functional level

Acquire, restore and conserve for the Community and Public Benefit the historic buildings known as Golden Grove, together with its historic Gardens, Arboretum, surrounding Gardens and Parkland known as Gelli Aur. Additionally, provide opportunities for education, leisure, well-being, or other identified local charitable needs, by maintaining public access and ensure it is sustainably maintained.

To pay the minister of the church of St James 50p to preach a sermon on Good Friday.To pay 16% of the net income of the charity for the upkeep and maintenance of St James Church of Barton under Needwood.To give relief to persons of the parishes of Barton under Needwood and Dunstall who are in need, hardship or distress.To give for the general benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit

Establishing and maintaining a museum for the exhibition, conservation and preservation of armoured vehicles, weaponry and tanks. The object of the Trust is to advance the education of the public in maritime and coastal archaeology, history, geology and environment by the provision of a museum or museums as is considered necessary.
