Arts Charities

The objects of the Charity are specifically restricted to the advancement of the arts and culture and the advancement of education in the fields of philosophy, literature and the arts.

Production of newspaper

The Community Association provides a range of activities and events for residents of all ages. These include arts & crafts groups, health and fitness classes and regular events aimed at improving and maintaining health and wellbeing. An annual Summer Fete is held in July and a Christmas meal for our older residents takes place at the beginning of December.

Our activities include teaching children from birth to 11 to swim plus aqua fit and aqua dance sessions to people aged from 16 to 85. Pool parties are run on a regular basis. We also run aqua volley ball sessions and other activities for children during the school holidays.

Regular public worship open to all; provision of sacred space for prayer and contemplation; pastoral work, visiting the sick and bereaved; teaching of Christianity through sermons and small groups; taking assemblies in schools; running events and distributing literature; activities for senior citizens, parents and toddlers and other groups; supporting other charities.

Sound UK Arts is a new music producer which commissions music projects that tour across the country and digital work accessible online. It seeks to bring high quality new music to a diverse audience - especially those underserved - and to deepen their access and understanding of it through workshops, talks, live performances, installations and digital projects.

Providing a religious place or worship, ceremonys, marraiges, christenings etc. Provision of language and music classes. Hosting education events in conjunction with local schools and scout organisations. Working with regulatory, statutory bodies as well as other faith and third sector organisations

The advancement of education of the public by managing the books, records and historical portraits of the banking business formerly known as Baring Brothers and which are together known as The Baring Archive, and making the Baring Archive publicly available for the purpose of viewing and research and the publication of the results of that research

The giving of grants to students at secondary educational establishments for clothing, sport kit and books. Other grants for the furthering of vocational training and assisting apprentices. Grants to educational establishments for students 11 years and over

Teaching Polish Language and Polish Culture to students from the age of 4 to 18 years. Leading to GCSE and A Level qualifications in the Polish Language/Literature.

The objects of the CIO are for the public benefit to promote the education of the public on the subject of music by the organisation of public concerts and the presentation of performances of music, including, but not limited to, concerts, master classes, music camps, seminars, workshops and commissioning new works of music.

To promote the practice, teaching, spreading and general advancement of the Serene Reflection Meditation School of Buddhism as exemplified within the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives. This is done through the thorough training of monks, and the support of our lay congregation, by a full programme of retreats, residential training, festivals, Dharma weekends and meditation days throughout the year.

Stimulate an interest in and a study of the Drama and the dramatic art and to support all that is best in the theatre. To prevent modern plays of great merit from falling into oblivion. To produce new plays. To stimulate the art of acting and the technical skills associated with dramatic productions. To support charities and other associations formed for charitable and educational purposes.

During the year we have weekly services on Sundays at 11am and on Wednesdays at 7pm. We worship God in prayer, singing & studying his word. We covered the books Galatians,Gospel of John,and 1 Samuel. Our young people enjoyed a time of games & fellowship together at a weekend retreat centre.

The Society of The Faith carries out a range of charitable activities including providing meeting space and offices for other charities and church groups, holding an annual lecture, awarding grants for advanced theological study and church needlework and sponsoring books about the Christian faith.

The purpose of A.E.M. is to bring the Christian Gospel to the Albanian-speaking people, principally but not exclusively in the Balkans. To aid this purpose, we translate and publish selected Christian literature. We also make the work known among Christian churches and individuals in the UK, looking to them for prayerful and financial support.

Running youth clubs and mentoring services for young people, Woman to Woman mentoring through seminars, conferences and training in new skills, running creche for children under 4 and religious services open to the public; training in musical instruments and media; man to man club

The Charity runs a Polish School which provides education in Polish language, traditions, history, geography and culture for four hours on a Saturday morning during term time.

Make Believe Arts is a leading provider of theatre and education programmes, using our understanding of progressive educational philosophy to develop the creative potential of children from 2 - 11. Our work includes: Storytelling and poetry, Helicopter Stories, The Story Basket and The Poetry Basket via in person and online resources.

The promotion of the study of art, music and literature and in particular, but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the provision and maintenance of the Beecroft Art Gallery at Southend-on-Sea in the County of Essex as a public art gallery and library.
