In particular, it fosters & promotes contemporary fiction of literary merit by awarding the annual Booker Prize to the author of the year's best novel originally written in English and published in the UK. The International Booker Prize is awarded annually for the best novel in English translation.

Sarum College is an ecumenical study, conference and research centre. Our educational programme is organised in seven Sarum Centres of Learning. These Centres offer a variety of courses within our specialist areas of Christian Spirituality, Leadership, Ministry, Liturgy and Worship, Theology, Imagination and Culture and The Arts. Within the college is a bookshop and library.

The charity's primary objective is the advancement of education by the study and practice of Thoracic Surgery and related medical subjects. This involves the organisation of European Board exams in Thoracic Surgery, organising annual conferences, supporting scientific publications of thoracic surgery and facilitating exchange of teachers and trainees in thoracic surgery.
